Sprint never renewed my contract

So I went to Best Buy and renewed my contract and bought an HTC Snap for $29. When I got home I deactivated the Snap and reactivated my Touch Pro..Sold the Snap and bought my wife a new phone. Anyway, at the time my contract had been renewed for another 2 years. I called Sprint for an unrelated reason today and the rep tries to sell me a new phone and convince me to renew my contract. I just said no thanks and figured she must have made an error. Well, when I got home and checked the site, sure enough my contract has the old start date on it and is eligible for the $150 discount for upgrade. I bought this phone at Best Buy at least 2 months ago. Has anyone else had this happen? Anyone know why?

Re: Sprint never renewed my contract

That seems like a pretty nice problem to have. Sounds like bestbuy's contract extension failed, so you got a phone cheap, without affecting your renewal credits, etc.

Re: Sprint never renewed my contract

I for some reason am in a similar boat.

7/08 - Bought the Instinct w/ a partial upgrade credit ($75) - Returned it 48hrs later
11/1/08 - Bought TP - Best Buy had to call Sprint and get the upgrade straightened out since Sprint never restores the credit once it is renewed
7/1/09 - My line showed it was up for FULL upgrade credit - Also showed that my contract was never renewed - Shows 12/08 fulfillment date
12/2/09 - Web Chat w/ Sprint - They said I was out of contract, but not up for full upgrade. Questioned why, and they said they put it in the notes that I was ready for upgrade whenever I wanted and switched Premier status to my line
12/2/09 - Also received e-mail from ECare saying that they reviewed the notes from the web chat and that I was able to upgrade whenever I wanted on my line.

Only problem, I will have to call Sprint if I try to upgrade before like 3/10 when my Premier status on that line reflects upgrade. Correction, Best Buy will probably have to call Sprint for me
