Anyone used AirRave? Does it work?

I can't leave Sprint...because I get a 24% corporate discount. It's a great deal. For $150/month after taxes and insurance on two lines...I get 3000 daytime minutes and unlimited everything else.

My mother has the 2nd line on my account...and lives in a fringe reception area.

My question is this: has anyone used AirRave? Like it? Hate it?

Tell me what you think!

Re: Anyone used AirRave? Does it work?

it works well for cellular service, first generation doesnt support EVDO but the second generation model does, dont know if its be released yet. activate with the rate plan for phone and you can have service without effecting the rate plan minutes.

check here if you want to read a little about it.

I currently use on I got off craigslist for $60. I love it. I used to miss calls and texts ALL THE TIME at my house. This beauty does wonders in getting every call and text. It works as advertised. My ONLY gripe is that the text time stamp comes in as an hour earlier than actual. LOL. But that's a minor flaw.

It's from when I worked for Burger King. It's their corporate discount. The company I work for now has a 22%, so I've always retained the old one.

Re: Anyone used AirRave? Does it work?

From all the forums that I go to I've read that Sprint is just giving them away no charge. The three times I've called mind you my contract is up, I was very polite and in the past two years I've never called them for anything and they wouldn't give it up. I have a feeling they noted my calls in the system because after the three calls I decided to email them and two weeks later I still haven't gotten a response. With a SERO account i shouldn't complain but damn those dropped calls at my house are annoying.

Re: Anyone used AirRave? Does it work?

I may have to give Sprint a talking-to myself and get them to give me one of these - because reception in my home has gotten so bad that I am now getting massively delayed texts and calls going straight to VMs which are also delayed, sometimes for hours.

I may tell Sprint, look, either you force me to roam (which is included but costs them money and makes my data go down to 1x), install a closer tower/antenna, or give me one of these. Hope it doesn't come to that. Right now I've decided to try a different radio, and if that doesn't help, roaming all the time at home is my only option without an Airave or field work on Sprint's end.

Re: Anyone used AirRave? Does it work?

Suprise Suprise I finally got my Airave and all done through email which is a good thing because I have everything in writing. So basically I got the Airave for free, no monthly charges and I didn't have to extend my contract another two years. I love Sprint I can't believe I was with Big Red for 6 years.
