Arrow Sprint Mobile Email vs regular ol' direct push?

I realized that when I was on the Touch, Sprint offered the mobile email application which was an awesome application that not only didn't show up in your running processes, but didn't leave the data connection active. Since I have come to the PRO, I realized that services such as SEVEN (even though it's the same company that designed both softwares) use Push by keeping the data connection active. This is actually how the real direct push from the Exchange server works too. The question is here: How is Sprint able to keep the data connection closed and still have push email?! And doesn't leaving the data connection open at all time cause a great drain on your battery life?

(I used to also have a .cab for mobile email that worked on the PRO, but lost it. T_T)

Yeah I'd love a Mobile email cab for the TP... I want to use SEVEN but don't want to pay for international texts, because I seem to hard reset pretty often per month...

Yes, It would be awesome if Sprint would release a new SEVEN based app. It would be perfect if it was the new one that supports more than one email and is based on the same way the mobile mail app does push. Anyone know what the deal is with the way the Sprint app does push and the way regular push works? HOW is Sprint able to keep the data connection closed?

i use SEVEN for two different accounts. what do you mean "but don't want to pay for international texts"? i'm using a seven beta and i haven't been charged for anything ever. perhaps i'm not reading your posting correctly.

SEVEN used to (coming from maybe March when I stopped using it) send a text message home every time it was installed, crashed, or encountered any other "critical error." The problem with that is that "home" is the isle of man, in the UK. Sprint charges 10 cents per international text message. Every time I had one of those events occur, off went an international text. It was costing me $7-8/month, sometimes more...

Seemed kind of needless. If it's fixed, I guess I'll give it a try.

Here is the cab of the sprint mobile email.

I works by sending a text message that you never see. Only one email address is supported.

The text message is outgoing to SEVEN HQ, I don't think one comes back.

To update, I downloaded the most recent version and...

YES, SEVEN STILL SENDS INTERNATIONAL TEXTS!

Just be aware.

Thankfully my Airave doesn't seem to allow international texts through, so I seem to be good as long as I don't hard reset or anything while out and about. Here's the number sent to, and messages are coded
