Verizon's $30 unlimited data plan - Page 2

Here is what I have noticed, anytime you make an equipment change to another data device, Verizon automatically puts you on that 45$ plan.
Its a total scam, I switch my device back and forth alot and every time I have to make sure they put the 30$ plan instead of 45$. I am sure there is some internal policy where they just stick u on the higher priced plan regardless of whether you used the 30$ plan before.

hi every one.. i have a quick question.. im going to get the TP2 when it available, on verizon.. do i have to get a Data plan? to purchase this phone.?

There are only two phones (that I know of) that you can get the pay-as-you /per kilobyte data plan. That's the HTC XV6900 and the HTC smt something or other.

Nope. When you buy the phone:

1.) in store with a real person: "we're sorry, but you HAVE to get a data plan with that phone because of x,y,z"

2.) Online: When purchasing the phone, you'll see a page to select the data plan, for most phones, there are only 2 options, the 45$ and the 30$ data packages. The two I listed above will have a 3rd option "pay as you go" or something similar to that. If you don't select an option, you'll get an error and have to select the option again.

All phones released prior to 2008 qualify for the pay per kb plan. New devices post november 2008 do not. That's what I do to keep up...

however I have switched from touch pro to mogul and back quite a bit. I remained with the 30 dollar plan though...

just in case u have never seen it check out the data usage!!! its crazy
