Does this break your SLA with Sprint?

In 2 years you will have spent almost $400 on so called insurance, when you are better off just putting that money in a jar because in 2 years your phone wont be worth $400.

Afrigginmen brother! This is ridiculous, it was expensive paying $7.00 x 12 months + $50.00 already IMO!

Hmm. This does seem very expensive. They should have looked at a tiered approach, where the first replacement was 50 then more for subsequent replacements. I may drop this in a few months as I am now a sprint premier member and I am eligible for an upgrade in 11 months.

BTW. I bought my phone from best buy. Is their insurance comparable?

The psp is pretty much the same but your not going to get many replacements without raising an eyebrow.

I think ill insure my next phone with squaretrade and just keep the 3$ sprint insurance. squaretrade just gives you cash for your stuff.

Yea, they should have done that from day one & they never would have had the abuse problem in the first place.

Some of the ridiculous things you read on this site that people have had their phone replaced for are what caused this to happen.

How many posts have we seen here where people are on their sixth or seventh phone having them replaced for something that was never really a problem in the first place?? (or inventing a problem so they could get a free upgrade, posters on this site are some of the worst offenders & they laugh about it)

The 6850 was not listed, but the audiovox 6700 and 6800 were. tier 2.
They are punishing everyone for the mogul>touchpro fiasco!

i got a letter form them about this // when i went with sprint i was suprized the an insurance claim was only 50 and not 100 for a smartphone.

and the TP is also in this they will be 100 to replace ... its any smartphone/ppc

im also surprised this thread has not been moved to the news section

Re: Asurion increasing deductible from $50 to $100 on "tier 2" phones

i dont have a problem with this at all...anytime a new phone comes out people rush to sprint stores and asurion trying to get a free upgrade...

7 dollars a month isnt much for me...and if you do some of the things with my phone that i do(flashing custom roms and what not) if i brick a phone i feel as though i should pay for it...100 for a 600 phone is a good deal anyway you slice it

and im not sure how it is in corporate markets but its my understanding that the only way you have to pay the deductible is if the phone is lost, stolen, has liquid damge, has physical damage (cracked screen, broken or bent ports and/or pins, or broken beyond economic repair (smashing it to bits)

everything else should be replaced in store with some grey areas like bricked phones from bad flashing.

this isnt a surprise...ive been with sprint a long time and this is the best deal...with att in my area they dont service or replace any phones...so anything thats broken has to go through asurion and you pay the deductible...and for the longest you couldnt even insure pda's

nvm the fact im assuming since ausurion does insureance for VZW and ATT that their deductibles are going up as well...
