Try the helmi wm6 or 6.1 with no id ruu.

Hi drellisdee, thanks, but no go - tried with helmi6.1 and also the Verizon AKU3.3. Both error 120: Country ID. :( This is the first phone I've attempted to cross-flash, so maybe I missed something?

[Edit] Well, I changed out the USB cable, and actually got it to write to the phone! Had to run UNI_exitbootloader.exe and now all is well :)

Thanks for a great tutorial! Couldn't have done it on my own.

Place the phone in dm mode again ##diag talk or your carriers version of it. Load bitpim and select other cdma phone on port 2 and save the nvm_htc file to desktop. Load xvi32 (hex editor) and change the carrier wording ie. vzw__001 or your carrier's wording (will be 8 spaces) to "SUPERCID" and save file. Use qpst and overwrite the nvm_htc with the supercid nvm_htc file.

I am trying the step quoted above but when I explore the phone, the NVM folder has an cross over it and won't let me open it or write anything in it. Do you have a suggestion? This was a Sprint PPC6800 phone that I am putting on VZW.

Thanks

supercid the way i posted is only for a 6700. This is a link to a 6800 supercid it is much harder and and should not be needed. 6800 supercid link http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...light=supercid

Got a question for you...

I've been doing GPS testing on the Titan with dcd, and one of the tests was loading the new Sprint PRI on my Verizon xv6800. After I refurbished the radio back to the Verizon PRI, everything works right again EXCEPT data. I've read through this thread and it sort of sounded like a few steps might work for me. Here's the issue... in EPST, under M.IP Default Profile, my HA Shared Secret and AAA Shared Secret are both blank. Under Security, my HDR AN AUTH Password and PPP Password are both blank. These values should have encrypted data. I've connected successfully with QPST and wrote 10.key to my DMU folder as that's what it said to do in the first post. The values are still blank, and I still don't have data. Any ideas on what could be causing this issue?

Shouldn't this be posted in the Titan forum instead of Apache?

Why? This thread is relevant to my issue, and the original poster also references 6800 devices in the first post. A thread like this does not exist in the Titan forum.

Re: How To: Use another carriers 6700 on VZW

Are your mip settings exactly the same as this?

MIP Profile
Number of profiles: 6
Active user profile index: 0
MIP_MODE: Mobile IP Prefered
MIP Reg Retries: 2
MIP Reg Retry: 1750 ms
MIP Pre-Reg Timeout: 0
Mobile Node-HA: Enable
Send A Reg: Disable
Dormant Handoff Opt: Enable

MIP Default Profile
Enable Profile: Enable
NAI: mynumber@vzw3g.com (MDN@vzw3g.com)
DUN NAI: (leave blank if there is not shown on all models)
MN HA SPI Set: Enable
MN HA SPI Value: 12C
MN AAA SPI Set: Enable
MN AAA SPI Value: 0 (requires a "2" here for 6800 and 6900)
Reverse Tunneling: Enable
Home Address: 0.0.0.0
HA Shared Secret: (erase whatever entry is here leave blank)
AAA Shared Secret: (erase whatever entry is here leave blank)
Primary HA Address: 255.255.255.255
Secondary HA Address: 255.255.255.255
DMU Pub Key: 10
MN Authenticator: 0

If your Ha & AAA are blank and your settings are exactly like this your secrets will be written this first time you attempt a data connection and it should connect and write your secrets. If not call vzw tech support and tell them you did a hard reset and data wont work and ask for a DMU reset or change phones then do a data or mobile web connection then change back that fixes it sometimes too.

I still get the same error in reading security. I tried it on a vista computer and an XP and the result is the same. Did I miss something???

This worked for me on a Quest 6700 but not the Sprint 6800... Did you do something different than this to convert your Sprint 6800 to vzw?

UPDATE: The QPST route worked great! I still don't know why se47 didn't... I just followed the directions in this post: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...hlight=ppc6800

Thanks Everyone....I've wanted to do this for a year!

How did you get it to work?!?! I cannot see my phone in qpst and been trying everything to get it to work. Also what / where has to be changed to com2?
