So Long Unlimited Plans on Sprint?

Received these e-mail on Sprint's new plans. After all the commercials I had seen on Sprint having unlimited data plans without throttling, I am disappointed to see this....


Sprint Launches New 3G/4G Mobile Broadband Plans, Delivering More Data at a Lower Price Than Competitors

Customers can choose from 6GB of combined on-network 3G/4G data usage for $49.99 per month or 12GB of 3G/4G data usage for $79.99 per month. The new plans deliver 20 percent more data for the same price as similar plans from Verizon and AT&T.
With an extra 1GB of data vs. Verizon and AT&T’s $50/5GB plans, subscribing to the new $49.99/6GB plan will be able to view approximately 6,667 additional Web pages, 2,000 more photos or 67 extra YouTube videos each month.
Sprint is committed to delivering exceptional value to its customers, and our new 3G/4G Mobile broadband are the latest example of that,” said Will Souder, vice president of pricing for Sprint. “Sprint gives customers more data at lower prices than competitors, so they can do more with their mobile broadband devices on Sprint’s 3G and 4G networks.”
The $49.99/6GB and $79.99/12GB plans are compatible with all Mobile Broadband devices sold by Sprint, including tablets, dedicated mobile hotspot devices, USB modems, netbooks and notebooks.

2012 will indeed bring an end to unlimited on sprint, sero plans too will be gone, bank on it.

They gotta do something, the towers are too overloaded and they're too inept to fix them. This person responsible for my ticket yesterday called me saying "the network engineers are still investigating the slow connection speeds in your area and the next callback date is Friday" what's there to investigate? The towers are overloaded so add more base units and carriers, its not rocket science wtf?

I doubt it, why would they terminate existing sero plans, especially after creating the sero Premium Plans?$30/month income per sero user vs. $0/month. And I doubt they would pump this much advertising into unlimited phone data plans only to get rid of them.

If you read this news correctly, they actually increased the data cap on broadband cards from 5gb to 6gb.

why would they get rid of unlimited data... it's a good selling point, and people on average do use more than 1gb anyways. there was a report somewhere about how much people tend to use just don't remember exact numbers

No wonder sprint is having problems.

Look at this....

My wife does NOT use the internet on her phone(no GPS either).
Just Texts and Email(minimum attachments) check every 30 minutes.
Her usage: 1,042,411KB

My usage Includes: Internet, GPS, Tether
2 email accounts(about 100 emails per day) set at 15 minutes
236,936KB

My Daughter's Includes: Internet, Youtube

@anyonenow I wouldn't go as far as blaming it on Android, WM can use alot of data too when using YouTube ,slacker radio and other streaming apps. Its sprint's fault for not learning from AT&T and providing the infrastructure needed to support all these phones. Today is my last day dealing with them, tomorrow afternoon when I get home from class I'm putting in my T-mobile SIM, firing up my HD7 and porting over my number.
