Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
I'm seeing a few on eBay for under $150. That best buy offer is looking tempting and I will try to resist it as much as I can.

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
if you do look on craigslist, try to bargain with them, like I mentioned before, you might be able to talk someone down from $200 to $175, or $150 if you drive out to meet them. Just make sure phone is charged so you can turn it on and see if everything works.

I personally prefer ebay over craiglist. Thing with craiglist is yes you can examine it and all, but there could be an issue that you may not be aware of until some time later. On ebay you got that 30 day guarantee that if anything goes wrong paypal will 99% of the time take the buyers side(which many sellers have come to hate).

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
hm now im starting to be tempted by tmobile too :( not for the phone, but because I see tmobile unlimited everything plans on craigslist for $30, same as my sero plan lol, and i don't go over 2gb so throttling doesn't matter to me
now if only i could trust that the plans are really $30 lol. |

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
yeah that $30 prepaid seems tempting, since I know I won't use 5gb data... and the 100 minutes aren't an issue to me since I can do voip...
but I'm still happy with my sprint sero and TP2. Once I feel like TP2 doesn't serve my needs i'll switch over since newer phones are >$30 lol |

One here on craigslist for 100 bucks, may try it out just to compare their speed here. Sent from an Epic 3G using ppcgeeks. |
Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
Make sure it's a 4G phone, then you'll see the speeds :)!

@eric12341 maybe try out the tmobile plan after unlocking the tp2 since it takes a sim card lol before you buy a hd7 that cost more when you have a phone that you can test out tmobile with

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/4)
UPDATE: Got a call from a lower level of tech support (least I think it's lower because their usual number showed up instead of saying unknown) same ol same ol were working on it type call. They're running out of time my HD7 will probably be here Friday. I'll update when/if my usual rep calls.

Sounds like your not going to be let out. You may just have to pay the eft and be done with sprint. Funny as i had no issues being let out. |
Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/9)
Yea the usual rep called me around 4:30 and I was told the same bs and that he will call Monday. If they don't let me out I wouldn't be surprised,my luck in November usually isn't the best.

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/9)
UPDATE: Got the call again today, no progress and the next call is Friday. I'm really tired of this and I will be buying a Tmobile SIM card today or tomorrow. Sick of this.

This is why ive always hated sprint. |
Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/14)
@fixxxer2008 or I can sell my contract to someone else. I'll consider that option if I can't get out for free, if that fails I'll just pay it. I ran into another hiccup at WalMart in which I bought a SIM card but it was for family mobile and not the Tmo monthly4G plans and they didn't let me return it so now I have to settle that with family mobile or with my bank. I already ordered the real Tmo SIM so now all I have to do is wait on the slow ass shipping which is all borrowed time since I didn't pay my bill because of this whole situation.

Re: ongoing service issues with no resolution in sight (updated 11/14)
eric i just would of went to best buy or tmobile and let them port the number and set it up, too much hassle to do it yourself. as far as selling your contract it may be hard because most everyone knows the network currently sucks. and since you didn't pay your bill, your service could be interrupted and give your arrive a bad esn. not to be rude but it's going to be a mess if you wait to sell it too someone. id walk into tmobile tomorrow and have them do all the work. that's what we did when we went to verizon, it was easy as pie.
i have no clue why sprint is giving you such a hard time? have you gotten vocal with them? that's what i had to do, then i just ported my numbers over and they let me out. i cannot imagine your eft will be that much, as i said you can just make payments after you switch to tmobile. not to be funny but you sorta seem on the fence about doing this. if it was me it would of been a done deal already. |

Re: ongoing service issues w/no resolution in sight (NEW UPDATE:Hacia a la gran final
UPDATE: yup just got a call from advanced tech support and they said that there's been a known capacity issue on both the towers (no shit!) and repairs won't be complete on one until 1/31/12 and the other won't be repaired until 2/15/12. So yup that's grounds for going to a different carrier which I told them so hopefully they will let me out. Tomorrow my usual rep will call and I'll tell him those results which is what he was waiting for then after the call in goes my T-Mobile sim into my HD7.

Hopefully they let you go, if not ask for a reduced eft fee for the troubles. Good luck to you on tmobile. Also i bet their fix timeline is way off. |

Yup they failed the 2 resolution dates they already gave me so I'm not holding my breath.

Re: ongoing service issues w/no resolution in sight (NEW UPDATE:Hacia a la gran final
saw a post mention about arrive getting bad esn, just switch to an old phone (maybe like a flip phone $10?) on the line so arrive's esn becomes clear and if line gets cancelled, the flip phone's esn is one that goes bad
edit: have you tested speeds lately? I noticed it earlier this week and just tested it just now. From mobilespeedtest site I'm getting in the 450kbps to 500kbps range that's about a 100-200kbps more than I was getting last month. Not sure what changed but if the speeds are slowly improving then that's good |
