Nope, once you sign that contract they won't be able to add it on after Jan 30th so if you are wanting to do that, I'd suggest you do it before the 30th.

i still love sprint, yes its not fun to pay more but the grass is not always greener on big red/att/tmo. i never really had a issue with sprint that i was not compensated for.

That's the Best I've heard yet, I vote for this as well.
I hadn't even heard of Rev b, so I had to google it.

"Smart Telecom in Bali is the world's first network operator to deploy an EVDO Rev. B 3G wireless network. Rev. B is an evolutionary update to EVDO Rev. A, which is currently used by Sprint, Verizon and others in the U.S. for 3G services. Rev. B boosts speeds to 9.3Mbps in the downlink and 5.4Mbps in the uplink."

Would the Epic/Evo be compatible/upgradeable to Rev B?

This would be Sweet, and might soften the Blow from the $10 Fee for Everyone announcement!

Yay. $10 more. Too bad ALL the other carriers in my area have at least 3G, with ATT and T-mobile about to bring on 4G. I'm still at 1X, nobody at Sprint can tell me when it will be activated, and my local Sprint store lied to me about when since April last year. Yeah, they just added the proverbial straw to the camels back with this one.

So if I switch from my Evo to my old Touch Pro 2 on 1-29-11, then on 2-2-11 change from my Touch Pro 2 to my old Mogul and get hit with the fee, can I cancel my contract without paying the ETF?

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES

$10 fee for what???

why dont they just say data plans are $25 now instead of $15....

or why dont they just say plan rates are going up $10...

By saying ALL smartphone users will pay an extra $10 for a Premium Data, that means SPrint is going to be expected to provided premium data to EVERYONE!!! some smartphones, especially the older ones still activated are Physically Impossible of providing a "premium" experience due to hardware limitations in the device.....
hmmmm... is SPrint announcement in Feb going to turn out to be FULL COVERAGE 4G and Boosted 3G+ speeds?? better be if they intend on applying the "cool fee" to every smartphone...

now what about family plan people?? they pay 9.99 - 19.99 per added line already.. will their plan go up $10 only or will every device have $10 a month added????

im callin sprint... i had to change my plan last month to get an android device... with this new policy, you shoudlnt need and everything share or sero premium plan anymore.. since they can just tack on the cool fee at will now..

EDIT - found the answer Sprint Newsroom | Mobile Data Information Center thanks for the link poster...
Key Points
· Smartphone customers on average consume an estimated 10 times more data than customers who use feature phones.
· Worldwide, mobile data traffic is forecast to more than double each year through 2014.
· Instead of limits and overage charges on data plans for wireless phones as competitors have done, Sprint is applying its $10 Premium Data add-on charge to all smartphone activations beginning Jan. 30, 2011.
· Existing Sprint smartphone customers are not affected unless they upgrade to or activate another smartphone.
· Sprint defines smartphones as devices with robust operating systems bringing the full function of mobile applications and programs to life including Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, Palm, and the Instinct family of devices.
· While the $10 Premium Data add-on charge previously only applied to 3G/4G devices, it was never simply a charge for 4G. The charge has always been to address the increased costs associated with operating phones that offer a richer data experience on Sprint’s network.
· We’re still one of the best values in Wireless. See the comparison charts above.

******which still means, the minute you upgrade out of your TP series, EVO, EPIC, ANYTHING, youll get hit with this fee.. so it WILL AFFECT EVERYONE eventually..*******

Courtney - this deserves a write up, dont ya think??? alot of people wont see this here tucked away in C.D. and the site is mostly Sprint Users anyways..
