dont take this as me being a hater or a doubter, but i would like to see something from sprint about that before i place my bets. just cuz some guy adds *********CONFIRMED************ to a thread title after supposedly speaking with a chat rep doesnt really mean anything to me.
yaknowaimsayin?

That is Sprint's official message board. There are lots of Sprint employees posting there, and the admins and mods are Sprint employees too.

Have any of them said it wasn't true?

BTW, if you call or chat with Sprint they will confirm it's true.

Re: Sprint forcing premium data on ALL SMARTPHONES

either way, if you read the details of the thread, all they did was bump up the requirements. i still qualify under the new premiere gold or whatever, even if this is true.
besides that, im less than 2 years away from being at 10 years without a single late payment. ill be white glove in a matter of 20 months.
laso, i dont see any sprint employees confirming it, as if that they havent denied it is some kind of qualifier. the thread is less than 1 day old. it may just not have been moderated yet.

Also, Sprint is doing away with yearly upgrades.

Something that hasn't been brought up is T-Mobile has significantly cheaper plans than what is listed on their website. You have to call or go to a store to get those plans though and you also have to pay full retail for the phone. But with Sprint getting rid of the yearly upgrade it probably comes out to be way cheaper than Sprint.

Where did you see that sprint is getting rid of yearly upgrades? Last time I checked sprint was advertising like crazy their premier member accounts. The only company to have done that recently is verizon and att just announced they are raising prices on their texting plans and getting rid of their of yearly upgrades also.

So far only sprint and tmobile are the only companies that offer true unlimited data plans. Except that tmo will throttle your data once you hit 5gb and sprint doesn't. So instead of arguing about tmo and sprint, the way I see it is we now only have 2 choices for affordable cell service. Its just a matter of choosing the one that works for you. In my case its sprint since tmob has bad coverage where I live. But if tmo worked here I might give it a try. Like I said before, its all about choosing what works for you.

What tmo plan are you on? My friend decided to cancel sprint. Since you and others keep saying that the plans are cheaper I would tell him which plan to get. He wants to get a wp7 phone so whichever plan is the best that includes unlmt texting and some type of navigation. Thanks

WP7 (and Android) has free navigation so you don't need it on the plan.
