EVO 4G and Family Plan

I currently have 5 lines sharing the Family 550(SM) Talk Plan. Sprint tells me this is an outdated plan they don't offer anymore. I'm trying to upgrade my primary line (which is an HTC Touch Pro 2) to an EVO 4G. Sprint is telling me they cannot activate the EVO b/c the plan is outdated and needs a data plan. They suggest I keep my family plan and in addition change my primary line to an Everything Data Plan for 69.99/month. I currently have a Pro Pack Data Plan on my primary line which lets me use unlimited data. What they are suggesting is basically keeping the family plan and subtracting one line from it and turning that line into an Everything Data Plan. All in all, it would cost me an additional $30 bucks before taxes to make this change. Someone tell me they have my plan at that Sprint is just messing up. That what I was can be done...

no, there is no legal way to do it..what are you paying now for your 5 lines? (there might be a cheaper alternative then what sprint is suggesting)

You can either do what they tell you and pay $30 more or you can switch to the family everything data plan which starts at 129.99 plus 19.99 per line for 3 lines or more.

How much are you paying now and for how many minutes?
Remember that you'll get unlimited nav and call any cellphone on any network for free with everything data.
Plus if you use a credit union you get up to 15% off your bill. It all depends how much your paying now and if every line you have gets data currently.

Yea, the figures work out better for me to use their suggested method instead of changing over completely to the everything data plan. i just couldnt express how angry i was when they told me i couldnt activate the phone on my line b/c i needed a new plan. i specifically have the Pro Data Pack that i pay extra for on just my line to cover data and such. i was questioning whether i wanted to pay just the $10 extra for 4G but i knew there was no way around it.

thanks for the advise everyone

Right now I get 5 lines for 110+15+15+15+10=165$

Thats 33$ per line...with each line having data..

if you want to go with the sprint route maybe you are better off buying a sero premium plan off someone which is 50$ a month...
