Sprint 3G now active in Evansville IN.

We finally got 3G!

Evansville Indiana pop 170,000 3rd largest metro are in the state, metro pop over 300,000.

All other providers have had evdo for years. We joined the party at 11:25 am.

does your phone say 3G or do you actually have EVDO speeds on your sprint network? Because I think the EVO lacks the 1x graphics and just displays 3G. Get a Regular sprint phone and compare it to see if they actually turned on EVDO.

I wonder how many other decent-mid sized areas are still 1X?

I have several small "pockets" of 1X as I travel about my general area... East of east bay area (SF Bay, CA)

I can account for one Small pocket. Yuma AZ has a population of 100k + or - and still have 1x. but if you go out to the desert and probably have a population of 300 people, they have EVDO.. Go figure.. I guess Sprint have priorities with Coyotes. LOL

Managers at the store here locally have been saying that it will happen by the end of the month, early next month but we have been hearing this for the past 3 years.
