Sprint Rebate, 10-14 weeks?

So, I've been checking online with my tracking number email. hasn't been updated since they claimed they got the rebate.

Then, today, it states that it's invalid for a bad address. (In case any one needs to call the rebate number directly, btw, 1-800-477-4127)

I call them, the guy corrects the "invalid" address, then says, "the rebate should take about 10-14 weeks total.

When pressed these guys have absolutely NO way of answering WHY this takes so long do they? They just keep quoting "you agreed to the terms of the rebate" over and over. They claim it's all automated, then why float all those rebate checks for so long?

Does Sprint really need the $100 checks that badly just to make their margins look good for a little while longer?

the rebates dont accually come from sprint. they usuall come from the manufacturer or a r4ebate clearing house.

Yeah, but come on, 10-14 weeks? Isn't that a bit excessive?

I am sure it sits in a bank account somewhere drawing interest for a month or so. Thats probably why its take so long

It's usually said up to 8 weeks. You most likely will get it on the 7th week. Remember, they dont actually start any process until 30 days after you purchase your phone

Re: Sprint Rebate, 10-14 weeks?

i agree its exessive, but id hardly blame sprints poor earnings on it. iwill say its probably a tacticc to try and keep you from getting the eventual cheack and cashing it, either by moving befor it gets to you, or whatever. to avoid mail in rebates, go to stores like walmart or best buy, they are willing to eat the amount of the rebate for a few months by giving it to you up front and waiting to recieve it on thier books from the manufacturer. they get preferential treatment to by sending a lot of them off at once and doing it electronically.

Re: Sprint Rebate, 10-14 weeks?

I know a few states actually ban rebates because they're so excessive in how long they take. Now, I understand why.

Re: Sprint Rebate, 10-14 weeks?

Just checked mine. Denied. I bought it straight from Sprint and only used the 75$ 1 year credit toward a new handset. Does that mean my rebate is crap?

Gotta' figure out why it was denied. Mine said it was denied because THEY entered my home address incorrectly. Even AFTER I called them to correct it on Friday, it STILL showed as denied (apparently, it takes TWO WEEKS for it to update online although they claim that that has nothing to do with processing the rebate). I called them back this morning and even though I corrected my address (even though it was their damn fault that they entered it wrong), they still had the incorrect zip code.

What amazed me was that the minute the rebate CSR opened my record she could SEE that the zip code was wrong given that they actually DO link to your account.

I think they hire blind one-armed fingerless capuchin monkeys to enter the information from the rebate forms so that they can then enter the information incorrectly and then deny the claims.

I had published the phone number to the rebate center in my original post. My suggestion, call them and argue why they denied it. Betcha' they screwed up.
