The plans are comparable man. Like I said, every business out there has a land line. So unlimited calls to cell phones only helps most people when they call their friends. Well i, like most on this board I'm sure, mostly text my friends. When I call someone, it is almost always a business (or the wife or kids, who are on my family plan anyway so those calls would be free either way).

No matter how you spin it, 500 minutes on T-Mobile is absolutely comparable to 450 minutes on Sprint. And at $10 per month cheaper, one could easily argue that it matches it or even beats it.

Oh yeah, and as for the phones- T-Mobile has the Nexus One and HD2 right now. They have also said they will be launching phones made specifically for their HSPA+ network before the end of the year. And the HD2 is the same thing as the Evo, only it's running Win Mo instead of Android.

Voice Mail DOES use your minutes man, lol. I don't know who told you otherwise, but this is well known. Call Sprint right now and they will tell you that yes, checking your voice mail does use your minutes. I have been over that with Sprint many times in the past.
And how can you not ever call land lines? Do you not call any businesses or something?
I guess you do things differently than most people. But most of us text our friends rather than calling them. Heck, I even text my boss's cell phone rather than calling. The only time I call anyone is if it's a land line or my wife or kids. There are rare exceptions, of course, but make no mistake i use a lot more landline minutes every month than any mobile anytime minutes. And I have several thousand texts every month.



I'm not bent out of shape, lol. I'm just correcting the misinformation. The fact is, Sprint's plans CAN be matched or even beat. YOU may use 10000 anymobile anytime minutes every month, but I can guarantee you that most people on this board don't use anywhere near that. In fact, the only reason Sprint started offering that any mobile anytime is because they knew most people prefer to send a text message instead of calling a cell phone anyway. So the vast majority of minutes anyone uses were already either landline minutes, or minutes to their family. We're not little girls in the 80's here, just calling to gossip and giggle. Little girls in 2010 text, I/M, tweet, and so on. They aren't chatting it up anymore.

And yes, Sprint offers text to landline, I know that. But a lot of businesses have a phone tree so that is not an option. Even it was a viable option, it would not work with most calls to businesses. And then even if it did- you still get charged landline minutes when you call the number to get your reply. I send text messages to landlines all the time (and I have the Bill Cosby voice selected) so I know all about that. Like I said, I MUCH prefer sending a text to calling someone so I do it whenver it's an option. And I'm sure most people on this board do too, that's why they have a smartphone.

It just doesn't make any sense to buy a huge brick for a phone, that has a huge keyboard and a big screen, and then spend all your time holding that brick up to your ear talking on it. No way. I'll text on it and only talk when I have to. And all of my friends, a lot of which don't even have smartphones, also text way more than they call. That's just how it is in 2010.

Verizon is known for having the largest network. They are not known for being cheap.
AT&T is known for having the iPhone, and having a large GSM network. They are also not known for being cheap.
T-Mobile is known for being cheap.
Sprint is known for being cheap.

We can see why Verizon and AT&T would beat Sprint. Some people prefer larger networks or want an iPhone. So it's no surprise that Verizon and AT&T would beat Sprint every quarter, even though Sprint is cheaper. they both have some pretty significant advantages over Sprint in other areas, even though Sprint is cheaper.

Why would T-Mobile beat Sprint every quarter? If T-Mobile really has no advantage over Sprint, why would they consistently kill Sprint every quarter (adding lots of customers while Sprint loses lots, and making tons of money while Sprint loses tons)? Sprint has the larger network, so if it is really faster and cheaper like you say, then it makes no sense why T-Mobile would consistently win every single quarter.

There must be some pretty significant advantages that T-Mobile offers, that you aren't giving them credit for. There are. They are plans (cost and contract requirements), phone selection, technology (GSM, SIM cards, etc), and customer service.
