Re: Sprint CEO Confirms 4G will not cost extra $$$

Just bumped into this: (it shows the efficiency of wimax over other technologies such as HSPA,HSPA+ and even LTE for support for subscribers..of course it is done by intel who is an investor in wimax)

http://wimax.com/commentary/blog/blo...ays-intel-0315

By the looks of those papers Wimax can handle almost 2x the users that HSPA+ can so once more users start using HSPA and HSPA+ expect it to plum it while wimax will be effected less.

Re: Sprint CEO Confirms 4G will not cost extra $$$

Thread subject is for general 4G. Could include mobile broadband, as well as any future phones being released just off the horizon. We all know they're gonna pile em on and give us headaches on which to get.

im not arguing hspa + is by any means better then wimax but i can give you many reasons why lte is better then wimax, i even have recent articles of Sprint saying they might still go lte later on down the road because 80% of the world uses lte so their device selection is going to seriously be hurting.

LTE and Wimax both have their advantages and disadvantages...As for sprint going LTE, they are holding this as a backup option to please investors..but realistically speaking the LTE that sprint can run is not part of the LTE specs..they recently sent a petition to add it to the specs but it has not yet been added.

Personally I'm hoping that in later specs wimax and LTE merge as their specs are very similar to create the ultimate 4g network. (aka this isn't another GSM vs CDMA thing)

I would rather have the headache of a bunch of great phones and having to choose one or two, then only having one choice and it being so-so
