Stuck with Alltel Touch Pro
Are there any alltel experts out there? I have been at war with alltel for about six months now, sometimes i feel like i am winning, sometimes i know i definately am not. Was hoping for some expert opinions from all of you, i just want to be phone-happy again, like back in the day--before Windows Mobile.
After 2 models and 3 years, i have decided to abandon windows mobile completely. Currently I have a broken touch pro (my fault), but it is my 5th warranty replacement phone. I will be getting an insurance replacement, because i talked the manager into paying the deductible for me, i also have an EC168 aircard, which is a great thing to have, but i no longer need it, as i upgraded to a cable connection. I have an 8330 Curve on the way, but for some reason Ebay and PayPal are being rather slow and is not expected to show until next week. Right now i am using my hammered RAZR and it only works when plugged in. I live in Milwaukee, and there is not one Alltel Location in this entire state. My service is usable at best when driving, and i feel it has something to do with the PRL, but customer service tells me to take the phone to a store. I laugh, and they say maybe i should ship it to Montana!?!?!(where my plan originated)...are you kidding me???
-Should i get the warranty replacement Touch Pro and sell it?
-Should i get the replacement and wait for an even better Port or even some sort of ROM of the android OS? (Thank you so much to all of the developers!)
-Should i find my satisfaction by beating it with a bat and throwing it in the trash?
-Can I somehow get out of my Alltel Plan for less than 400 bucks and move to a company that actually offers a smartphone that is not old news?
-Any other ideas at all will most definately be entertained, i really appreciate your time in reading this!
Further Ranting:
To close, i feel very abandoned and left in the dark by alltel ever since the VZW buyout. There website provides very outdated information to us stragglers left behind. The AT&T merger info says to expect changes by Q1 2010...well, where are they? I do not want to become AT&T, i would prefer Sprint or Verizon, but my problem is that if i invest in a phone now, what if next week we become AT&T. I'm sure i will sitting with a useless phone once again. I understand that alltel has very affordable plans, and the unlimited data plan, but is it really worth all of these problems? I hardly see how. Thanks again for reading if you still are! I like to rant...
