Sprint and the cheapening of HTC
I was looking on my shelf, at the boxes of old smartphones...
My oldest, a ppc6700 is gone, not even a box, but here is a Mogul box, and a Touch pro, and a Touch pro 2... So here's the deal. Lets start with the left most, the Mogul or PPC6800. Sprint Power Vision Smart Device Standard Battery AC Phoen Charger Stereo Headset with Microphone Mini USB Sync Cabe Mini USB to Two Mini USB Adapter Mini USB to 2.5mm Headset Adapter 2 Styli Leather Carry Pouch Micro SD 512MB Clean Screen protector Software CD Getting started packet Sprint terms and conditions notice. Thats what came in the box... its a big box too. Now the Touch pro [middle] HTC Touch Pro Standard battery AC Phone Charger Carry Case Stereo Headset USB Sync Cable MicroSD Memory Card 1GB Screen Protector Software CD Get started guide Experience Sprint Speed brochure Setup email guide Basics guide Terms and conditions guide Now keep in mind, I am typing this verbatim from the boxes... now for the touch pro 2: HTC Touch Pro 2 Standard battery AC Phone Charger Screen protector Styli Sim Card get Started guide Setup email guide features guide basics guide software cd terms and services wireless recycling envelope Now, At $199 the Mogul was cool, the touch pro was $299 and the TP2 $349 all these on contract. Is it just me or should I not feel a bit ripped off. I want my headphones and card and case! I might be a dork, but I used them! What do you all think?

Re: Sprint and the cheapening of HTC
Honestly, I wouldn't be all that impressed if Sprint threw in a $5 pair of cheap headphones, $10 2G microSD and a cheap holder.
Personally, I'm glad they took out the $20 worth of crap that I don't use. I guess I could see the holder, but pretty much EVERYONE already owns plenty of microSD cards and headphones...and better ones than what comes in the box. |

Re: Sprint and the cheapening of HTC
Yeah, apparently it's cool now to expect the economy to be fixed in less than 5 years.
Here's a perfect example of a metaphor for the economy... The more news stories there are about the price of gas, the more the prices go up. |
