Since they already cost more than most laptop computers these days, I don’t see why they haven’t implemented this a while back. Our TP2 should’ve been twice the speed with twice the memory of the TP1 but sadly we get a bigger frame size and no flash for the camera and we’re stuck with all the old parts.

having used clearwire before they got into bed with Sprint...4G network was, for lack of a better word, MAGIC.

Plugged in the "modem" for power...plugged...turned on the wireless for the laptop...and its BROADBAND speed.

Now...translate that to your mobile device...

think surfing the internet in a moving vehicle without tethering/bluetooth connect to your phone and stream videos or whatever else without lag.

maybe Skype in a moving vehicle

watching an NFL game at the beach on your mobile...

Not to come off harsh, but there will always be room for bigger and better things. If Sprint or any of the other carriers werent pushing each other with faster or better service, we'd all be stuck with a crappy EDGE network.

if all u do is say make calls text.. send pics.. and surf in opera ya current speeds are fine.. but i agree once that 4g gate opens.. carriers are going try and figure out how to nickle and dime u to death.. just like the failed ring tones for 1.99 and such that they try to sell now..cept with 4g it will be video on demand crap.. netflix streaming on your pda.. crap like that that they will try to sell ya...

but by the time 4g will hit mass appeal we will have 5 inch pmps as our smartphones.. that will basicly be like todays netbooks...lol so we will need that boost in speed..

It's all about delivery! As mentioned in an earlier post, it is a race to be the format that can provide all of the consumers entertainment needs in one device/format! Make calls, surf the web, TV, watch movies, play games, data, and any number of new technologies coming in the future all from one delivery source...Be it cable, satellite, cellular, or something new. What ever the source, bandwidth is the key!

The problem with Sprint's 4G is that its not going with the established big players that will use LTE like Verizon, Tmobile, ATT, and everyone else in the world. What this means is that Sprint will have pathetic phones since most development will be on the LTE system. I think Sprint messed up badly by going alone with WiMax and they'll probably end up in bankruptcy court since the users who want 4G will probably want the fanciest phones, which most likely will operate on LTE.

did bill gates really say that? I use twitter everyday. Not to update my friends but for tweets from pocketnow, ppcgeeks, mobile tech world and a couple of others. I like always being in the know with new phone technology and the twitter tab in sense 2.5 is lovely for the reasons i use it for. Bill Gates is trippin if he really said that.
