Re: T-Mobile flicks HALF of the "dimmer" switch...

HSPA is awesome. When in Europe I was getting 2.5+ speeds consistently. I would see high peak speeds, but average was as good as most home broadband connections.

Shhhh. Don't say that around here. Most of this site has been brainwashed into thinking CDMA is somehow technologicaly superior to GSM, and you might incite a riot, lol.

lol, yup. cuz you don't hear about bandwidth and dropped call issues on cdma. it was recently made public/official that att was dropping calls due to data traffic.

You don't hear about it on GSM either. You hear about it on AT&T because of the way they mismanaged their network. But right before they got the iPhone AT&T was the network with the least amount of dropped calls. Don't you remember all those stupid commercials about it a few years ago?

Incidentally, Sprint is just as known for bad service as AT&T is. AT&T has problems in a couple cities, but the majority of their network is awesome. Sprint has problems in lots of places.

So glad to say that I've had like 3 or 4 dropped calls in like 6 years.

Backhaul matters, but it isn't any more important than anything else. it's a chain, and any weak link will hurt the chain. If you have too many users on any given tower, it is just as important as backhaul.
