sprint international texting

I got sprint and use very few mins/month, add an unlimited data plan and I pay a lot for little use.
One of the few things I would like to do is text back home to the UK.
At $0.23 (or something similar) per text to send or receive I think it's a rip off.

Is there any other carrier that has an international texting pack/add on?
CDMA or GSM, I don't care, I'm ready to ditch Sprint to be honest, GSM seems like the way the world is going, but by the time my company sends me back to the UK I'll want a new device anyway.

Yep, I have a google voice account, but it's not much use as my mumber in the UK forwards to Skype and I only have one cell number here in the US.
It doesn't do much for texting.

sort of like a google phone but from jaxtr, is not free but cheaper than .23 cents per international text. if it works out to about .10 per text. you can cancel anytime.

you can try those free texting websites online but personally I'm paranoid my phone number is in a database somewhere waiting to be sold for .03 lol..I don't use/recommend those, just an idea for you.

Can't you e-mail the phone number like we do 1234567890@message.alltel.net for mine?
