Re: Don't use "Dimmer" app
Actually, once booted and all the background processes loaded it went dark again. I had to go into the settings just after boot but before the Dimmer service started and set the backlight to Auto.

Re: Don't use "Dimmer" app
I don't have any problems with Dimmer app. I didn't like that the stock Android doesn't dim the screen enough, Dimmer is nice. I wanted it even more dim, so I am also using an app called Screen Filter. It essentially puts a black filter over the entire screen (always on top), and you can adjust the dimming level. It can get VERY dim!!
![]() If Dimmer app is not working for you, try Screen Filter.

I use a b&B backlight controll widget, it doesn't function 100% (ie won't turn backlight below 9% and the dimmest setting is somehow 22% O.o). But this is because of android on our devices not the app. Its still allows for the backlight to be lowered further than android would normally allow to save battery.
I had the complete backlight turnoff incident once, but I knew my android somescreens well and was aple to find the app, click on it and increase the backlight again ![]() |
