usb tethering
was wondering if anyone knows how to do this? my computer is not set up for wifi (i know, sad) so i still need to be able to usb tether with it. right now, any time i need to tether i have to reboot the phone to the windows side to use it. honestly, this problem is the only hting keeping me from using android 100% of the time. i've read through this thread, http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/tp2-androi...ng-please.html, but it seems to just be talking about wifi tethering. any help would be appreciated.

BTW, I love these "this is the only thing keeping me from using Android" threads/posts, as if we should care that you're not using Android 100% because of one single issue or another. It's pretty minor issue when you think about it. It'll come eventually I'm sure, but USB debugging was just recently enabled. So patience, unless you want to figure out how to do it and show the rest of us. Those are your options ![]() |

Re: usb tethering
Right back at you buddy.
![]() I'm complaining about you - NOT something that's provided free of charge, by hardworking devs that do this in the their free time. They know what's broken... especially something as big as USB tethering. That's just like saying "I refuse to use this until the camera works" - that's fine, but we don't care. This is for testing, it's not meant to replace WinMo at this stage. Maybe never. |

Re: usb tethering
I haven't personally tried it but PDA NET is what one of my buddies use on his evo. You need to download the client on your pc and download the one from the android market on your phone. I have the client on my TP2 but have yet to download it on my computer. it catches all you sms and what not so u can reply to text right from your desktop. I know there's like a 15 day trial they give you for full access. After that, you won't be able to access secure sites so you won't be able to do gmail, banking or anything like that unless you pay for it. But, hey, you can't complain about something being free. Try it out and let the community know if it works!
