google voice issue

Why is it that every time i try to call back a number that is not on my contacts list there is a + in front of the number. Is there a way to get rid of this feature? it is very annoying.

Haven't you noticed when it calls out it calls out with a + in front of the number...? It's how GV is passing the phone number onto your phone, so no. Is it causing you trouble dialing the number? I'm sure you've got the north_am_dialing setting in your startup, otherwise you wouldn't be able to make calls with GV...

So is it you just don't like the look of it? If that's the case, then damn dude. I don't know what to tell you if you're griping about it and it doesn't have any negative effects...

I dont make calls with GV but when i try to make a call from an unknown number i receive through GV the phone tries to dial it with a + in front of it so the call does not go through. I then would have to find a pen write down the number and physically dial it. Im not gripping about anything. Just want to know if there is a way to fix this. If there is not a fix than fine thats just the way GV is setup im assed out. no need to get defensive. I love using droid on my TP2 this isnt going stop me.

I'm confused. The only option I have to enable to have GV work properly is the north_am_dialing setting in the startup.txt...

You initial description was poor at best, it sounded like you were griping... give us more info next time

Re: google voice issue

Hi, could you tell me how to make google voice working in the android? My phone is sprint tp2 with stock 6.5 rom (not unlocked). After I install the android on my sd, the native google voice application never works for me. This almost kills my interest to use android on my touch pro2. I used the Evo for one month. I really like the google voice program. In my tp2, whenever I try to dial with google voice, it never gets connected. How should I fix it? I use the android build from the GSM/CDMA project directly (I use cab file without any change to start up file)

Thanks!

I already gave the answer away... Add the north_am_dialing=1 statement in your startup.txt. If you use the startup app, there's a checkbox for N Am Dial or some such.
