There was another change in the kl files just now, but I can't seem to figure out what it does. It seems exactly like it was prior to this, though it claims to have swapped power and home

Haven't had a chance to test it, but when I get home, I will compile and see how it does. Which device are you on? I can only test it on a rhod500, but I can build it for you with power and home swapped differently and see if that fixes it.

Always feel free to drop in IRC and let stinebd know if something isn't working the way it should be. Also, when testing, try to start off with a clean andboot folder. I always rename my old one, create a new andboot folder, and download all components directly from XDAndroid.com (or compile myself). That will make sure it isn't something from your old setup ;)

I'm on a RHOD400, and I usually delete my data.img before testing out a new build. I'm assuming the 500 should be relatively similar, as it's Verizon and 400 is Sprint

I'll have a poke around IRC later. Let us all know if you come up with anything as well

What are you talking about...? Multitasking has nothing to do with the recent apps list.

Either way, go back to an older rootfs (probably kernel too) if it's that big of a deal.

So when you are within one app, how do you switch directly to another app?

Example: You are taking some notes in your notetaking app and need to switch back and forth with the calculator app to do some calculations for your notes. There's no easy way to do this without the recent apps list.

Ah I guess I just hit home and fire up that app...

Like I said I never used the recent apps list. If it's that near&dear to you, just keep your phone back!

I gotta say, I *love* the new key arrangement. After a year using WinMo, I'd hit the top power button to sleep the phone pretty much every time, only to have the screen overviews pop up. Now the power button does the expected action -- sleeps the phone.

I dunno. As a person whose primary phone is an Android device, and a regular user of homescreen replacements, the Home key has been given a lot of functionality by developers. Spareparts offers a very weak substitute in the End key, and though I understand some of the devs here might think the Home key is useless, I wonder if it'd be more reasonable to take some sort of poll to see how users actually feel about it.

Recent programs isn't *providing* multitasking, no, but for any user who wants fast app switching, it's the most user-friendly method of pulling it off.

It's kind of like the 'Last' key on a TV remote. Yeah, sure you can punch in the channel number of where you just were, but it's AMAZING how often your average couch potato uses it.

Okay, but I see that theres navi files for some rhods but not the 500. Is there a generic one that is used?
