Re: CyanogenMod 6.0][03-10-2010][V1.0]
In my quest to play Angry Birds, I have been testing out both versions. Both have small advantages. Neo seems to be a little more polished as smaller features such as the volume control work exactly like they should. This might just be because the xda guys are more worried about the bigger picture, such as adding sound, bluetooth, etc. But other items, such as network speed seems faster on xda. I also like the launcher that xda uses better though.
They are both really close overall. I have no idea why Angry Birds would work on Neo though, and not xda. That is very odd. I am glad that we do have choices, and would think that both teams could learn from each other. |

Man I just cannot get this working, its saying that it can't find androidinstall.tar.gz ... however this file is definitely in the folder. I pasted all of the files to the root of my sdcard as well, is it looking for them to be in a folder of some sort? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I followed the instruction to the letter and it worked just fine. Maybe clear your sd card and start over. I also set my ext and linuxswap per the video. I used the rest of the available memory for the fat32 partition.

also in the root folder there is a subfolder called startups. you have to find your phone and than copy the startup.txt to the root folder(where haret is) before you boot it. i did all this before running npkinstall and while it was still connected to my computer that way i could just run the npkinstall and when that finished boot the haret |

Huh, I do see something interesting. After I formatted the card and ran the npkinstall it gave me the error, however when I use my card reader to rewipe my microsd its showing that the linux swap partition I made is now an EXT2 partition. Anybody know if that's how it should be?

You need to use that special program to view those non-windows partitions.

Huh, well looks like it was a problem with that specific download, I finally got it working. So far it runs well, unfortunately 3.5mm jack doesn't work with this build either and I wasn't able to install angry birds which was unfortunate. Overall though this build is definitely quick and seems to be spot on as far as the battery is concerned.

Re: CyanogenMod 6.0][03-10-2010][V1.0]
Neopeek's build works quite well for me. 3D is working, and the reboot option on the end key menu is there.
AngryBirds runs, though there is some random graphical glitching which can be fixed by reloading the screen. I've run into two random reboots, which I hadn't been seeing on XDAndroid. Once you go to the trouble of setting up the SD card to work with Neopeek's build, you can actually still put XDAndroid into an andboot folder on the SD card and dual boot them. |
