Yea, wireless tether isn't so stable. Disabling it is pretty much impossible (my phone froze solid, yours rebooted ) but USB tethering works like a champ. I used it for quite some time, all day long.

So I started with a new data.img. But my USB tethering still doesn't work. I'm not sure what I am not doing right. should I enable or disable the usb debugging mode?

I have it enabled, but I don't think that matters. When you enable USB tethering, it should automatically disable anything else USB-related.

So what happens? You just get an error? You're on the newest kernel from 6/27? 1333?

Need moar info.

yeah, I am on the latest kernels with new data.img. I don't see an error, it says "tethered" once I have USB tethering selected but I don't have internet access from my computer. I've tried different combinations of when to plug in the USB and enabling tethering but i still didnt' see any activity even though it says tethered.
Another thing I've looked into fixing is the static noise in the background on calls initiated by me.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...ighlight=audio
but since it's older than the latest kernels, just wondering if I should go back to those kernels to try?

Sounds like either the drivers didn't get installed, or... well I don't know what else could be wrong.

If it says "Tethered", I think the phone piece is all done. Now for the PC piece. I don't remember having to install any drivers for USB tethering - are you on WinXP or..? Have you checked device manager, network connections, etc?

I am on win 7. Under device manager, it does say XDA device and the driver is not found..... So I am not quite sure what's the problem here. I tried updating it but it couldn't find it automatically.

Hrm. I have a new lappy at home I can test with.

Do you have ADB setup/configured? Might need that driver, but I didn't think so...
