anyone having trouble with ringer?, I can't get the phone to ring, calls come in but only have " silent" as choice for ringer, also can't get the dual boot to work, if I move the files to root to be seen by DualBoot, get message missing rootfs.img, tried adding the rel_path=andboot but doesn't work, have a Rhod400, thanks for any help

Backup everything on the card and format with the HP Tool. Full format, FAT32. Feel free to backup & restore, or start fresh, your choice.

If everything is at the root of the SD, you don't need rel_path. rel_path=andboot would indicate that all the files are in andboot.... not at the root.

There's also a registry key associated to Gen.Y - but that's really outside of the scope of this thread, please see the xda-thread on this topic.

hi arrrghhh,
with the lastest build on 18/6/2011, the problem lost signal when phone going to deep sleep is gone.
Now, i can use wifi and 3g to connect to internet, but i can not log in into android market with both of wifi or 3g ( of course i have an google account).
i looking around in internet and someone said that i need hard reset. but the problem is i using android on sd card, and when using hard reset function, nothing happen.
So, do you happen have any guess for this bug(maybe), or a solution to workaround

Thanks

sol

What does it do? What build are you using? I'd appreciate if you post in the build thread.

Hard reset seems drastic, have you tried a new data.img?

I using this build: htc-msm-linux @ 20110618_144657 with all config that was introduced at here : Introduction to Android - SD Card - xda-developers
It's work seem all fine with me compare with those comment on the auto build site
ah, my device is rhod500 - verizon tp2
I will try with new data.img and will report back

sol

P/s: "post in the build thread." you mean in the xda site???

Build thread = FRX06, GBX0A...

You listed which kernel you're using. When I say build I mean which system image basically...

Re: Simple Guide, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): 6/23 ANDROID TP2 DL links, FRX06, GingerBre

OK, so for fun, I dumped everything, DL'd
FRX06_Full_Bundle_25.3.2011.zip & haret-package-2010-11-23.zip from files.xdandroid.com

Then the newest files from these:
Kernal (zImage/module), rootfs, initramfs

You have to unzip them & then rename or delete old ones, then rename new ones to old names...

I rename \windows\startup to \windows\1 startup (which ensures nothing is running & no overclocking that would interfere with the Android boot). Then reboot, take out battery & IMMEDIATELY ran \storage card\haret.exe upon boot.

First time it builds data.img file with becomes your Android OS (for simplicity). It didn't build & hung on tiny white words (K.I.S.S). Reboot again, still hung, same place, waited 5 min each time. Did again.

Then went & edit my startup.txt file & deleted the overclocking (OC) statement "acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=716800". Ran haret.exe again & it built & booted into Android. (Can put the OC file back later after it builds the data.img file on the first successful boot).

Have most of the newest stuff & it runs. Why did I type this up? There are zillions of posts & threads on multiple web sites, easy to get lost... This was the way I just did it.

One issue so far & it's documented in the notes of here repost from above: Kernal (zImage/module)

The newest 6/22 Kernal info under the build re. rhod400 says:
"Rhod400: ... Still have Roaming Indicator ON (text on lock screen, triangle icon everywhere else)."

Yep, mine always has the roaming indicator on also...

--->> GO TO POST 163 next page to turn off roaming indicator

OLDER STOP DON"T READ
Some discussion here, here:
Looks like either an old issue or it popped up again since April 30.
rootfs-20110430-69355b8.zip Commit Log commit 69355b8 Author: Bryan Stine Date: Sat Apr 30 19:31:45 2011 -0400 Sync froyo ril blob from hyc's codebase. This will result in a roaming indicator on FRX06 in CDMA mode.

I have not been around much & don't know if some of the old fixes here: 79 in May work...

Anyone?

Interesting tid bits...

an option in the Phone Settings menu to select what mode you want... get to it by dialing *#*#INFO#*#*

Anyone?

Holy cow batman, when you make a post you make a post!

So the comments on the kernel page made me laugh, because the kernel has nothing to do with it. You're sir diligent tho (kudos :p) and you found the answer yourself! Well kinda. The rootfs is the culprit, ultimately the RIL within it. There's a new RIL, and basically the roaming indicator is bogus, can be ignored.

To fix it, you need to adjust your /data/eri.xml file per this post.
