Secondly, any suggestion for battery off ebay?

Last problem with the android side, sometimes my phone is unable to turn on? is that roofs problem or more like the kernel problem? any suggestion for rootfs?

Thanks heaps

Yes, of course they're still developing the kernel. New one was out May 4th...

Pretty sure there's a link in the first post of this thread, and I definitely link to it in all my build threads... but the autobuild service will always be the place to get the latest and greatest kernels.

Also, I'm not sure if you had a horrible accident and lost a row or what... but my TP2 has a full 5-row keyboard :p.

As for a battery, anything that's not extremely cheap. They'll work, but they'll die quickly. Spend at least $10.

If you're talking about the SoD condition in low service areas, that's fixed - you can try replacing pieces yourself, but I recommend waiting until the new build is out. It's gonna be a huge update...

lolol i just realize that my tp2 has 5 row keyboard.
really hope that they will release a flawless kernel soon, since im liking android now, and cant afford new phones :(
However, latest kernel that seems stable to me is the 1253, and that kernel is like back in early jan build...

1253? Why so old? I recommend that kernel to people using a GSM network on a CDMA device (there's a bug that was introduced after 1253...)

However, you appear to be on Sprint - so why don't you use newer kernels? Newer kernels work great for me. Far from 'flawless', but definitely good.

Cam doesn't work on 1253, that kernel predates the cam code as I've stated previously.

If your wifi doesn't work, make sure the modules you have matches the kernel.

Don't ask for ETA's please - I could just make one up arbitrarily, but it would be in no way based on reality. This is a project driven by individuals donating their free time - so there's no such thing as a 'deadline', and I for one am in no position to be setting them.

1253 doesn't have USB tethering patch either... why is this so hard to understand? You go back to an old kernel, surprise the new features don't work... Amazing.

No, the clocks problem has still not been fixed. Many have tried and lost many hours of their life tracing, and still cannot find it. Not sure what can be done to help trace either, sorry...

Yeah, I respect every single one who make the android can run on our tp2, and i want you to know that. :)
I just have a little curious about new release.
I am using 1253 because it fix my need about "lost signal" problem.
And you know that i just a newbie, i come to android just 2 or 3 week, and in fact i really don't know 1253 doesn't have usb tethering( i's googled about that )
heh, i still have a lot thing to learn
thanks

Yea, there is a lot to learn. I still feel like I've only really scratched the surface - and I probably haven't really :p.

Basically if you want to know what's missing, the "best" way is to look thru the commits - if the 'fix' comes after 1253, then obviously 1253 won't have it - like cam and USB tethering. There's a lot of other little things - devs are working to resolve the issue, but the issue came with a huge clocks commit, and no one as of yet has figured out where the issue is. The theory is, the system thinks your SIM card is an SD card, and shuts it down when the screen powers down to save battery - that's the best way to describe it. If only fixing it was that easy ;).

Thank you (and the other developers) for the hard work you are doing to give a fully working Android OS to our TP2.

I use a RhodCDMA in Italy and Moldova...and so i am using too 1253 kernel (you suggested me). I hope that in the future that bug will be solved.
