blazin android cab install - unusable battery run time??

I installed the latest blazn android cab with working sound last night. Rocky start but it ran. Not bad really. I was able to make a call look at some settings.

Most programs will not work. they open and then close. (maps and navigation) marketplace worked and g-mail worked after a few crashes. at least the crashes were non critical and stable (just returns to main screen) the web browser works too. It was 0300 so I stopped playing with it and went to bed.

I also can not change wallpaper. I can get through the entire process but when I pick and image tap set as and select wallpaper I get a CAMERA error. (not sure what camera has to do with setting wallpaper but meh)

I did however discover its completely ususable however from a POWER perspective. Note BT was off (does not work yet anyway) Wifi was off. Screen was OFF. I decided to leave it in android to see how stable it would be.

I wake up 6 hours later and the phone is dead. I mean REALLY dead. battery at 0% so dead it won't even flicker till I charge it for 5 minutes and 10 minutes later I finally boot it back up and the battery is 0% and a minute later moves to 1%

so SOMETHING in the android build drains the battery like their is no tomorrow. I mean huge drain.

suggestions? is there anything I cam submit that might assist in development? (a log file or some kind??)

Same for me, RE. the battery -- drains it to the point that you can't even boot when connected to a stock charger until you wait 10 minutes or so.

what shocked me was the SPEED with which is drains the battery. Doing nothing the phone will run well over 30 hours on a charge probable 48 hours (doing nothing screen off no radio's but the CDMA radio on)

this thing drained from 100% in under 6 or 7 hours doing nothing. Wow

One of the things is the USB constantly putting out power. Obviously power management is still a work in progress. As for the wallpaper thing, I just go into Astro File Explorer and find the pic I want, menu button, then set as wallpaper.

Re: blazin android cab install - unusable battery run time??

What do you mean USB host?

What I meant was that the USB port is constantly drawing power. Plug a charger into your phone, one with an LED on it. Don't plug the charger in to the wall, but notice the LED is on. Do that when you're in Winmo and it doesn't light up. The USB doesn't seem to be able to turn off at this point. There's a thread about it somewhere...

found it

Anyways, Astro can be obtained from the Market
