Moving from 1 Install to another after update failure (TXT,Apps)

So I upgraded and the market no longer worked. Here's what I did:

1) boot windows, move all the android files into a sub-folder. re-install cab
2) boot new fresh android, install astro, sms backup and restore, and any other programs you want to install. Open astro click menu, tools, backup apps. back up all the apps
3) boot windows, make a sub-folder android-new and more all your android folders into it. move the old android files back and copy the apps from your backups direction to androot/AndroidApps
4) boot old android, run the apps to back up your data, back up apps on astro if you want.
5) boot window and do step 1) again, but copy astro from backups to androot/AndroidApps
6) boot new fresh android, install from your backup.

I hope someone else after losing access to the market will find that useful.
