Can somebody explain why some apps only work on certain versions of andriod?

Hello,

All this work is truely incredible and I am greatly appreciative. Just got one question: Why is it that some apps, such as Air Control or Urban Spoon, don't work across all the versions of droid for the TP2?

For example, I got Air Control working on the Sense version, but havent been able since. Urban Spoon also worked on Sense, didn't accross the EXT versions, and is back now on the Blazn/Froyo. Just curious and thank you in advance.

I think it has more to do with Android version than the sense.
I am not sure if I understand you correctly but it is similar to having compatibility issues with Windows XP, Vista, and 7. In Android, different linux kernel version is used for different versions of android, which could result in issues if an app is optimized/configured for one version.
