here is the STARTUP.TXT file i am using :

set RAMSIZE 0x6000000
set RAMADDR 0x10000000

set mtype 2292
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz

#pwf dm.txt 0x8e0000 0x20000

set cmdline "msmvkeyb_toggle=off gsensor_axis=2,1,3 lcd.density=240 htc_hw.force_cdma=1 acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=768000 physkeyboard=rhod500"

boot

is it in the wrong place? where should it be?

thanks again
Your start-up text looks fine , your phone is probably not handling the overclock, try changing 768000 to 700000.
That should fix it up.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010

i used 700000, boot successful!! there is one thing though, when use a test too/app to check on processor speed, it still shows up as 550mhz. mod didnt go through/take? is there a better tool (using CPU Benchmark) i read through the other posts that 768000 is stable w. the TP2. is there a reason why this wouldnt work w. my TP2 (rhod500 (vzw))? is it the SD card possible? thanks again for your help & taking the time to answer my questions.

It's really dependent on the processor in your phone. The CPU is only timed to 550 in design so whatever headroom you have is gravy. Some dies are better than others depending on which part of the wafer it came from.

PHH claims GPS support for rhodium (TP2). I'm downloading now.

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010

Is there a way to get the gps working with the cab verisons via automatic update?: I stole this quote from another forum.

It looks like there's (very preliminary) GPS support in the latest rootfs, thanks to phh and jonpry. AGPS support is not there yet, so it might take anywhere from 3-20 minutes to get a signal lock.

Replace the rootfs.img in your andboot folder with the linked version. You might also need to update to the newest kernel from Glemsom's site.

I haven't tried it yet, so I can't tell you much.

GPS works as of the latest ROOTFS!

Endomondo showed me on the map and gave me a status of GPS OK!
I was standing by a window at work, so I couldn't run to see how well it worked though. I also tried Google Maps Navigation, but the Navigation piece seemed to lock up.

How do you test that the GPS works? I checked both option in settings (Use Wireless and Use GPS) and opened Google Maps and selected My Location. It comes back with "location tempoaray unavailable".

Re: Android/Linux for CDMA Touch Pro 2 Rhodium Updated 4-20-2010

I was able to get my gps to work by take this file and extracting the file
1. Download the latest rootfs.
2. Extract the lastest rootfs and rename it to (rootfs)
3. Find the andboot folder on your storage card.
4. Replace the rootfs file on your storage card with the new one you downloading from the web.
5. Run android and you are finished.

Now my gps works and I am happy!!!
