Have to say I agree with you with only 12h experience. I guess this proves the point you can get Android up and running on a TP2, but it is too slow to be useful. Maybe we are missing something. My build is in my signature. I did not OC the Android build. This is all a bit tricky interacting with the Windows Mobile OCing.

Not every tweek is compatible with every zImage, module, application, configuration setting.

Here's one suggestion: if you are using Advanced Task Killer, remove it and chose a different Task Manager. Additionally, after removing ATK, reboot into Haret without overclocking.

I have to disagree with jlpatte and jerryyyy, although it may not be a full port and still have some bugs here and there, this thing has taken off of late and is getting better and better on a daily basis. Personally mine is running a lot smoother and with less bugs/glitches than winmo. I think one problem you may have is the amount of changes and test files that are coming out lately, all of which are just tests, and like fried said, they may not work with each other. First off, make sure you're not OC'ing in WM. I would recommend starting with one build (reference or blazn), get that up and running, then once it's running good, start tweaking, but don't delete or overwrite files when you make a change, just remove the files you want to change (don't overwrite the zimage, just move it to a different place so you can revert back to it if you don't like the new changes). And often when my system's getting laggy, etc, I'll just delete the old data.img and let is build another, seems to fix many of my issues.

What fishingmedic said was right on the money. If you are experiencing a slow or laggy android, you've done something wrong. The basic package should work reasonably well without adding the latest kernal. I am currently running the 3D package verbatim from tiad8 with great success. Didn't mess with the startup text, module, zimage or drivers as he put them together and this thing flies and has great battery life. I would say try again. Android is a little tricky, but has progressed to the point where it can almost be used on a daily basis.

I am with you on this. Not clear why it seems slow, but worthwhile debugging... as it is either Windows Phone 7 or Android for the next phone and this is a good chance to understand how Android works.

It seems that right after I installed it was faster. The only thing I did after installing was to get the radio to work by changing the force CDMA parameter 0->1 (my SIM card is out) and then I configured my gmail account.

Is there a way to monitor active processes? That is easy enuf to do in Windows, fedora or Ubuntu, but not sure how to do that in a phone distro.

Cheers

Quick question, but first let me say thanks to all the developers working on this project. I have a Rhodium 400. I know the 3.5mm output still isn't functional yet. My question is, what do the other phone models use? Is it just a usb => 3.5mm adapter? If that's all, is there any reason I just can't use that as a work around on my sprint phone?

Which build are you using? Your sig has 2.1 listed and I found those to be quite buggy.

As far as I know, audio output either way is not working right now.

Was actually 2.2. What I did this AM was to download anew the:

XDAndroid2.2Froyo.121610

XDAndroid2.2BLAZN.092810

Versions. I installed them both in separate directories on my SD card. I then removed all overclocking files from my WinMo install just to be sure.

The Froyo install ran still slowly. The BLAZN was substantially faster and almost usable. My previous complaints were about the Froyo build.

I assume there are other builds to try, but I am only into this for 2 days and it is vacation-time. Will have less time for "recreational computing" when back at work next week.

In any case, hats off to the developers. I have written 1000s of lines of C++ in Fedora and can feel the pain.

there is a way that you can try and get the 3.5mm jack to work for sprint but i cant seem to find it to point you toward that direction..search for it,it has been asked(by me as well since i have a sprint tp2)..the only bad thing that itll disable all your audio(calls,ringtones,etc)..i havent tried this though so idk if it works or not..

I have discovered that just loading the following cabs, not even overclocking, impedes the startup of XDAndroid2.2BLAZN.092810.

MortScript-4.2-PPC
Msm7kCpuSpeed_v2
OC_ Auto_v4.21

Is there a safe way to turn on and off OC in WinMo?

when using oc_auot4.2, there is a safe speed and duration that will let you run the stock speed to give you enough time to boot android.
