Thanks alot, but I am a little confused to what this actually is. Are any parts of android included or is this to be used inconjuntion with [3/6/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev] ?

Thank you very much for this. I am wondering in the future maybe you could include the android/wm bootselector app.

no, just a stripped rom for use with android, most roms are not 35mb and i think android is down to 86 or something.

I'm using the 3-6 release now and 3g data (at least on sprint) is working fine. Did some light surfing with no problems.

Re: [ ROM ] Calkulin's Stripped ROM for Android

3g and data are currently only working for sprint, no other carrier. all others must use wifi(claims to be working now, tried it last night and couldn't get wifi to work....found networks but still didn't work)

Re: [ ROM ] Calkulin's Stripped ROM for Android

so let me get this straight

you can run android and WM.. i saw the app that lets you boot both...

is it running well enough to actually use the phone right.. get calls etc?

if i get tired of android i can change to WM without flashing?

i would like to try this but when its more stable.

currently there is no android rom, the way you load it is to boot from windows mobile and turning it off then back on or soft resetting it brings you back to windows mobile so it is completely safe to use... although i wouldn't keep it loaded for long as a lot of functions still don't work but sms and phone is working

i was reading a little more about it.. so no sound as far as ringtone etc..

this is for sure a step forward and exciting but i think i will wait a little more.... some very talented people are working on it so im sure it will get there...

awesome stuff guys, keep it up.

Re: [ ROM ] Calkulin's Stripped ROM for Android

can anyone explain if there are benifits to loading andriod from a stripped rom vs. my already made rom. I would like to try it out but i still would like to get back to my own wm rom too, if there is no performance difference then ill just stick with what i got. It seems to me that if it resets the phone to load from storage card then the underlying os shouldn't be a factor right? I would assume this stripped main purpose is for wicked fast boot to then load andriod...

gsm tp2 are about 100% functional for awhile now. and theres app for dualboot time start up.

calkulin im loading up late tonite when the family to go sleep and digging in with real feedback on your rom.

im assuming that we might be able to store the android files directly to device memory...

we will find all these things out soon...

thx

I guess that would be one benefit of the stripped rom, if we can load the android onto device memory I am sure performance would be better than running from the storage card. So question is can this be done?

Calkulin is it possible to look into pre-loading the Gen.Y DualBOOT v1.0.5.0 app to one of your future update.?

Just wondering I dont mean to throw too much your way on the first date.

Calk-

Thanks for the awesome work. I look forward to providing you more feedback after a couple of days' use.

Any chance that, on the list of your "To Dos", you can provide a .nbh file analogous to the one available for the Vogue at item 6 of post 1 of this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=636024 ? Armed with that .nbh (which appears to be a series of minimalistic installers/drivers??), we could run Android natively, per the instructions on that post, no?

Feedback and/or thoughts appreciated.

Calk, this rom is so fast and snappy. I wish it had Activesync and I would use it--any way to install activesync? I doubt it.. thought i'd ask

Now if the battery would only last longer than 5 hours, I would be set.
