Activesync is there, just the shortcut was never created. But why would you want to use it anyways?

Because it is fast and snappy and that user can install what he wants and keep it fast and snappy.

Reuploaded to disable auto sensing backlight because that was causing the backlight in Android to not shut off, so if you downloaded before this post, redown if you have the backlight issue or use a registry editor to disable this reg key

HKCU\Control Panel\Backlight
LightDetectOn=0

After playing with Android whole day, I tried to flash my TP2 with this ROM but for some reason when I tried to make outgoing call, I was not able to hear anything. Similarly I was not able to send SMS (I did put phone number in the recipient's address but I got error that recipient's address cannot be blank). Then I tried to boot Android and I had the same issue where I couldn't hear anything but the SMS worked fine. I am really not sure whether its just the ROM or something else.

+1...Cant hear everything on voicecalls in WinMo. ROM is ultra lite as described and I like it. Fast Fast and snappy, just got that one bug I founded no speaker in WinMo. No speaker in Droid, but data and etc etc works.

Tried the GenY DualBoot cab but it wont launch per power up. Love the ROM Calkulin you are on the right track. Just alittle more diagnostic and Im sure this will end up exactly what you aimed for.

I will re-flash and test some tomorrow. Got a busy day tomorrow, if the speaker was worker I could run this all week. Its a fast, ultra lite ROM install a web browser and hotmail email good to go.

late,

Thanks Calkulin, especially for adding Activesync and Messaging back in, so that we can use the basics of the phone while charging! :)

This is base ROM that you can use to run Android on. It is designed for speed and memory.

But it wont replace windows will it? I guess i just wanted to make sure that if i flashed this then wanted to go back to my TP2 Rom if i had to reflash it or not...going to try it out...thanks

Re: [ ROM ][ v1.1 ] Calkulin's Stripped ROM for Android - 28MB :-)

Yes it replaces your current ROM with mine, so if you want to use Windows, I would suggest you keep the ROM you have as mine is only meant to run Android

Re: [ ROM ][ v1.1 ] Calkulin's Stripped ROM for Android - 28MB :-)

Calk, do you mind sharing what you left in SYS that the phone has only what it absolutely requires??

edit: I just used my basic 23541 as a SYS, my xip and oem stuff, removed all my WM stuff, replaced with the android files, made app.dats for the file locations, copied the android files to the kitchen, used app.dats to position them all.. finally created a link to haret.exe and put in startup and it works. I have android files on my SD so I am not sure if they are required, pretty sure they are.. but it boots quickly! Will report if SD card with xdandroid files are needed in a bit. I am sure they are... it cant be this easy lol

alright, haret loads and everything but then immediately goes to "waiting for SD card" whether or not the files are in main memory..

wonder if there are any switches to haret to tell it where to find initrd.gz? maybe in startup config?

edit2: well it looks like we just cannot access the flash memory from android yet, so that is out the window. this is I would suppose as best as it can get at the moment :)

This is an incredible breakthrough and I look forward to seeing how this ROM, and others like it, progress in the near future. It might soon give me an opportunity to upgrade my wife from WinBlows on the TP2 I gave her (when I moved up to the Moment) to a stable and working version of Android.

Keep up the good work Calk...
