Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]
Amazing build. So much progress in so little time. Thanks for sharing this, Civic and MrPippy.
Two quick questions (anyone wanting to chime in with useful info, feel free): 1. Is there an Android based application out there that will allow us to manage our dual radios (i.e., GSM and CDMA)? 2. Will this ROM be able to (eventually) be flashable onto our phones (analogous to what the folks at XDA are doing with the Vogue), thereby replacing the internal WinMo? Thanks again for all your hard work, and for sharing. |

Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]
For the people who have wifi working, which seems like everyone but me, what is the process you go through? I've gone through 15 pages and couldn't find anything related.
Do I have to have wifi enabled and/or connected to my network in winmo before running android? Once in android, do I have to do something in the initial setup and if I don't, wifi will never work? Do you have to manually enter your SSID or will android scan for available networks (does not work for me)? Do you change any of the advanced settings such as channels 11, 12, or 14 (my network is on channel 4)? Some notes about my setup / what I've tried: Sprint Touch Pro2 with Silence custom ROM I am trying to connect to my home network (WPA2) without success. I've tried connecting to a open network as well. I've "reinstalled" android twice because I thought I may have messed up a setting. I've manually entered my SSID, and then power cycle the wifi. This is the only way I've seen the message "scanning" although it does this forever and doesn't find anything. I have never seen a wifi icon on the home screen or top bar. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to but I though I saw someone said something about it. I'd really like to get wifi working. Thanks for your help! |

Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]
Yeah, my TIVOs (Series) have a cheap USB Wifi adapter that doesn't support WPA. I know the TIVO Wireless G adapter supports it but unfortunately, I don't have that adapter.

Re: [2/27/2010] Google Android for TP2 CDMA [In Dev]
I ended up having to go back to using my spare 1 gig chip, on my main use 4 gig chip it was crashing things and I tried backing out of the browser and coming back, wouldn't even get far enough to type in google, as soon as it loaded it crashed. Now the odd thing once again was trying to add my google account when i first booted it up, wouldn't connect for that even though wifi is working just fine. I am gonna research a little more about the market enabler and see if I can't get it to work. But for the record, wifi is working on mine just fine.
For those that have asked, when I was in winmo, I started wifi, connected it to my network that has wpa/wpa2 security, then booted android. Don't know if that is necessary, but other then the whole google account thing it has worked both times.
