Don't know if this will help or not, but I had the same problem the first time I tried booting it up. I had to move all of my files off of my SD card and reformat the card then move all my files back to the card. After doing that it booted up the first time. It took 5-10 minutes the first time and then booted much faster after that.

I had this same issue booting off a clean 16GB sd. I switched to a clean 2GB and it booted right up. I don't know if the size had anything to do with it, but it fixed my problem.
