Oh I think i'm pretty much sold with this android I think as soon as sound is able to be played through headset/speakers im with android forever regardless of: power conserving (if you had a touch pro 1 you know you had 3 batterys with you at all times lol) i'll do the same with the touch pro 2 with 3 batterys.

Market: I'll use freeware sites
camera: just will use window mobile OS
Bluetooth: pfft who uses it with tp2 that kills battery
gps: will use windows mobile google maps.
Youtube/ streaming: Windows mobile is great espically with youtube downloaders.

Sorry for the spam but yea this is why I'm soon to be sold to android os only

whoa...lol...I wont say that that menu tab is kind of laggy to pull up... But agreed clicking on everything else in Android is alittle faster.

From what I understand, when haret.exe is loaded, it clears WM from the RAM and loads Android. But when you run apps, those are loaded from the SD card, and either into RAM, or run locally from the SD card. That's probably why apps run slower.

I do notice though, after first run, they will load faster on subsequent runs. Until i reboot, and re-load android.

Ok, I have been messing around with the data settings for US Cellular this afternoon and after googling my little heart out, here is what I have found:

Data doesn't work supposedly on all Android devices for US Cellular. I checked the TP and the Vogue forums and read up one what others have found.

I did get data for about 5 seconds a minute ago by following the instructions on this post from the TP forum:

Quote:

CDMA Data isn't working.
Sometimes this is caused by incorrect or missing APN settings. When Android boots up, go to Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names. You should see an entry with Name: Android (or CDMA Generic), and APN: internet. If this entry is not active, activate it. If you see nothing, hit menu (the button with the house), create a new APN, and put in the settings Name: Android and APN: internet. Everything else can be left blank/default.
If you are on US Cellular, or another network that uses login name and password for #777 dial up networking, you can try this, or you can try putting in your password, but I don't believe it has worked for anyone.
This is the thread:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=104276

Here is how I tested it:

I rebooted my device and then turned off WIFI

I waited until the 3G icon showed at the top and then hit the browser icon. The google.com website loaded 75% and then it stopped. Any other attempts failed.

I rebooted into WM and restarted Android and right after Android loaded, I loaded the browser again. It again loaded to 75% and then stops but it is for sure 3G data. After about 30 seconds it looks as though it has completed loading the google.com website but any subsequent attempt at loading a web page fails. It doesn't appear as though the initial website is cached in anyway. When I try to reload the page after the initial attempt fails to connect.

I am going to put a post of on howardsforums as they have some pretty sharp people that post there that work for USCC and see if they can figure anything out.

(Just to make sure it is known, there is no SIM card in the phone :P)

Will this always require that the sim be removed? Or is this just another stage of development. And I can't get over how brilliant you people are.
