lol, no promises as to 'when', but yes. Pretty short list of fixes too, anyone chime in if they think there's something else that's easily fixed that needs to be put into the next build. My list is as follows:
  • New firmware for wifi, fixes tethering (among other things?)
  • MMS fixes from hyc. Seems we got a few, but not all of them... Sprint-only!
  • Camcorder patch from detule. Fixes video recording.
  • Of course, netloc if I can figure it out
  • Gotta talk to detule, I think there was some work they were doing on the RIL. Not sure where it left off/if they have it resolved. It seems detule at least has a way to mitigate some issues people were experiencing. AFAIK it's a GSM-only fix...
Anything else?

I pulled the netloc APK from odub303's XDA-Dev post (link, attached), renamed it to NetworkLocation.apk and replaced it in system.ext2/apps (system/apps). Rebooted and got a location fix without GPS. Verified with Location Cache Map app. I'll report if any side effects occur. Let me know if there a more appropriate netloc APK that I should try.

EDIT: CyanogenMod 7 has a better netloc APK. See post here.

IIRC I've been using the NetworkLocation.apk from latest GAPPS package available for CyanogenMod 7 without no problem, netloc is working for me!

I can confirm that the netloc APK from CyanogenMod 7 works, though I had some instability with the same from CyanogenMod 9.

EDIT: After a few hours of using the netloc from CyanogenMod 7, my Latitude history shows that this netloc APK works much better than the netloc APK from odub303's XDA-Dev post, so I'm attaching the CM7 netloc APK for reference.
