Question to you - are you overclocking? I'm going to try not OCing to see if the panel wake issue is any different.

To answer your question - I'm sure WinMo correctly (fully) shuts down the panel. It's not correctly (IMHO) being brought up in Android at the moment. WinMo (for me at least) gets pretty good battery life when the screen is off. We're getting close to that point when Android is sleeping - not sure we're there yet, but I'm getting plenty of battery life to run all day. In sleep, I'm getting just about 1% drain, maybe less.
