I was going to start researching all the programming ins and outs of droid on the rhod since I know linux fairly well now after being so impressed with the droid project and learning it.. but I'm just going to pick up a desire today & move on.

You sir are a mean, jerky, ill tempered cancerous tumor in this community and the fact you're even still here & treating the newer members like you do holds it back in so many ways it's stupid.

Have fun chasing off the rest of your community mr. I'm better than everybody else.

Oh...I hear paxil helps with those tude problems you have.. check into it please for the sake of everybody here.

You're getting a Desire and I'll never have to deal with you again? Sweet!

I'm really upset that you think I'm "mean & jerky" and I'm sure we've really lost a great dev in you...

NOT! Have a nice life, please let's get back to testing this kernel folks!

Hrm... that's really unfortunate. I've been using this just fine for the entire weekend. I haven't really changed anything with my setup either...

Really need logs to pinpoint it, and I assume dropbox is still borked - double-check just to make sure.

If not, might have to guide you thru ramconsole - which I failed horribly at, so I'm not the best person to guide you guys thru it probably :p. Need to talk to WisTilt2....

It's running good for me again :) I uninstalled SetCpu, I wondered if that was the culprit (maybe screwing up the system clock when it went to sleep - I had a profile to clock it at 122mhz when it went to sleep). Anyways, I installed SetCpu again but this time, I only have a couple profiles under SetCpu and I'm not creating one for when my TP2 goes to sleep, gonna let the system do its own thing; so far so good, run on 5 hours now... smooth as butter! Good thing is that I haven't seen any SOD lately... Insta sleep/wake works great!

Is it just me or does it seem like charging under Android is very very slow?

[QUOTE=stckmojo;2068326Secondly. How anybody deals with your attitude is beyond me... Nearly every thread you post is filled with some sort of hateful crap and is just completely out of control because you are obviously better than everybody else here.

Between the way you treat everybody, that junk you started with tiad, and your general attitude towards everything not posted by you.. it's a wonder anybody ever listens to your crap.
[/QUOTE]

Bro, let me tell you a few things about how helpful Arrrghhh has been... I've personally been on IRC and watched him walk people who can't even speak english through loading up android many a time, people who don't even bother reading the threads that he has given them a link to that would explain everything. He personally has helped me understand this process better and even remoted into my freaking computer at home to bail my ass out getting adb set up because I'm too much of an idiot to figure it out on my own. Personally if you have that much knowledge of linux I'd hate to see you leave as you could possibly help along the project but if not, good luck with the desire. And if you decided to leave your TP2 for the desire only because of arrrghhh's response, I'd say you need to drow some thicker skin... this is the internet, not your personal life, don't let it get to you like that lol. However if you take a look at any of the posts that arrrghhh has posted where he's had an attitude, take a look at who he's answering and think about it. I personally have snapped on a few people around here because there's too much asking stupid questions that were just freaking answered 3 posts before or in the FAQ that many have taken the time to right and keep up to date. I'm not sorry if any of us here have gotten sick and tired of spoon feeding some of these people (and I'm NOT implying you) but to be completely honest with you, I'd love to see some of them go get a full android phone and jump in another thread to ask repetitive questions because they're time is too valuable to spend reading or searching for the answer that's also been posted.

As far as the issues between Tiad and Arrrghhh, leave them between them.

Good to hear!

On the charging question, the battery meter is... not accurate, we'll just put it that way. WisTilt2 and jonpry are working on a new battery calibration app - the kernel code is done (in this kernel in fact) but there's no hooks in userland yet so the code is 'dormant' if you will. I will post instructions on how to manually use it once it's ready, and then hopefully jonpry can automate the calibration process fairly quickly and have a functional battery calib tool to test soon :D.

Heh, just saw your post - thanks for the vote of confidence man - I just ignore it, let them roll off... If I worried about everyone that thought ill of me, I'd constantly be worried... So I just go about my business without letting it effect me!

Might ask you to start over clean, formatted SD card, whole schebang.

You can feel free to backup all your stuffs, but for testing just to make sure you can get a build running again, starting clean might be the best method.

If you want, start with a new data.img, that's basically starting clean from a user perspective.

I don't understand how it could persist after a reboot like that... data.img seems suspect.

Deleted the data.img and set it all up again, reduced OC too but still acting funky. Just had another sod, blinking green light, but KB lights never lit up, couldn't get it to wake at all, even after just leaving it for a few minutes. Rebooted to winmo and that's it. Now if that's happening at home I could just hook it up to adb and take a look and see what it's doing correct? Not near my computers right now so can't, but I'm gonna try later at home and see what happens.

Yeah I think that Set CPU app may have caused some issues, my phone was acting funky with it on so I removed it without changing anything else and seemed to stabilize.

If the phone is completely dead, adb will not work.

You will only be able to pull active logs from a functional phone, although whether or not adb works is a good litmus test to ensure if the phone is actually dead or not ;).

Re: [TESTING] Updated 3/11/11 New Kernel - TONS of changes!!

Running my TP2 with FRX05 (vin titanium base) against my wifes EVO---side by side, batty drain is almost identical. though TP2 will iitially show a few % lower than EVO. once I boot into winmo I get the same % as the evo....then when I boot back into android, % reads the same as winmo and virtually the same as EVO. it's all meter reading

EDIT: audio + charging through dongle (usb adapter) working great in my car.

Latest test kernel and FRX05 are working pretty well so far for me. Been using phone, messaging, facebook, tweetdeck, email and they all seem problem free. Battery life is pretty good. I have only been testing at home though where signal strength doesn't change and always full bars. Overclocked to 750Mhz and not using setCPU.

Looking forward to the new battery code.

Edit: Also, I switched back to the regular 1276 kernel to test and the amount of failed wakes was crazy! Every other time was a failed wake. I have yet to have one with this kernel.

1. Previous bullshit content ignored. Not the place for it, this thread is for "testing," not for fine-tuning a working product. I'm pretty damn sure the first post spells this out pretty clearly. Anyhow....back on topic:
2. ndno, is that all you did? Hmmm...
3. Had another crash last night, fresh boot, untouched...crashed about 10 mins later. Was a completely fresh FRX05 folder w/ 3.11 kernel. Notably, when I copied fresh FRX05 folder to SD, I had connected phone (as Disk Drive) to Win 7 machine under Vindows latest Titanium build, W7 checked SD Card for errors and "fixed" them. This may have something to do with it? Gonna reformat Fat32 & do a virgin run.
4. Regarding battery issues, what do you all think about the battery code possibly overcharging? I don't think these batteries have on-board ICs to control charging; I'm thinking the battery code oversees charging. My reasoning is simply because the batteries get so &@#$ hot when charging under XDAndroid. Charging under WinMo never gets that hot. And not to freak anyone out, but my prior battery that was performing like a champ lost its ballz after I charged under XDAndroid all night. Next morning the battery was hot as $41t. Under Vindows, the performance loss was very noticeable. Popped in a new battery, and feeling the Vindows love again.

If (I'm totally off-base)
Then (Don't serve me anymore alcohol)
Else (We may want to avoid, or at least drastically limit, charging under XDAndroid until there's some clarity on this topic.)

Hell, my battery could've been ready to die (it was a year old, but ballzy as hell). :dontknow:

Re: [TESTING] Updated 3/11/11 New Kernel - TONS of changes!!

copy/cut/paste old kernal to folder "xyz" and installed the new kernal and image...startup.txt is still OC to 710...all data pulls up fast. goes to bed fast, and wakes up on a double latte.....wakeup is instant (so far :-)

auto kill seems to actually work when phone goes nighty-night---getting lots of free mem on wake-up -- upwards of 90mb free

been on for a whopping 5 min, will test for the rest of the day

@Recursion...will check batti temp on/off charger on/off data....give me a few hours to get numbers

baseline: off charger, no data 80.5 degrees (ambient is 70) batti showing 100% charge---plugged in with NO charge icon in taskbar OR sense clock (with data--temp, SD mem, HD mem)

plug in usb with screen off--batti still at 100% waiting 5 min.

time's up and with screen off/phone sleep, plugged into usb----no temp change.

You may be pulling data (google sync????) check mem usage
