OK, I guess I mis-understood. The one I was talking about above is a SOD related to OCing but the one you're trying to debug is something else, related to panel waking up with this test kernel. I haven't had any SOD related to the panel wake; once in a while it goes into deep sleep (green LED), it may take me like 15-20 seconds to wake it up, repeatedly pushing the power button; I haven't had it gone dead sleep on me; how do you reproduce this?

No way to consistently reproduce, it happens at random.

Sorry for not being more clear - we are debugging the general SoD condition, has nothing directly to do with this kernel...

It's no Sleep of Death, but I did just get some sort of strange problem waking up the panel. It took around 10 seconds to wake up, so long that I thought I had a Sleep of Death (first time I've ever been excited to see one of those!).

Keyboard lights were responding the whole time, but nothing was on the screen, and then after 10 second it suddenly woke up.

Attached the dmesg.

Edit: Forgot to mention, the relevant wake is at the very end, at 19:45.

I try 30/01/11 kernel but my phone lost gsm sign. it show x in the sign meter. my phone is rhod500 and I set force_cdma=0 because my network is gsm.

On FRX04,installed the latest 30-1 kernel, all seems to be good, the batt seems to be good as well.

The only and major problem-When the screen turns off,I lose network.Get back the network the moment I unlock the screen.

So technically it means when the phone is sleeping there is no network, may be that explains longer battery times.

Any help appreciated and coz people cant reach me!

When you say network, are you saying your GSM/CDMA radio is being turned off? Like you can't receive phone calls? That shouldn't be happening. The battery savings come from fully turning off the panel.

Re: [TESTING] Updated 2/1/11 New Kernel (SoD Debug Help Needed!)

Last night

Iam on a GSM rhodium400.Outside the USA.Yes when the screen automatically turns off after 15 seconds,it apparently loses network(I see the x before I slide to unlock). The moment I unlock the network pops up in less than 30 seconds.

I presume since the the GSM radio is turned of when the phone is not used,it is giving me a longer battery life.

Today

Cant pull up the network even after unlock.

I may be will format the disk and keep you guys posted.

FYI-Before the FRX04 update,I always had the GSm radio turned on,I could make and receive calls but say after one hour,If I try calling my phone,Iam not notified on the phone. So no incoming calls, also,on some occasions-was able to see the network bars but no incoming and outgoing.

Also, any option here so Iam notified when someone replies.I mean I could reply on a much faster basis.

Update-----3 reboots later I see network.Damn!

My network definitely does not drop when it goes into sleep - I've had it wake several times to notify me of a text, or wake for a phone call...

Looks like you resolved it by rebooting, good to hear.

I'm assuming it works on the normal autobuild kernels...? I'd just reboot and try again. Not sure TBH...

Just want to say how awesome this Kernel is, I used to have an occassional SOD howerever I haven't since using this. If I get one: I'll try to make sure I attach a SYSTEM_LAST_KMSG file. The phone sleeps and wakes very well now too. Only had one random reboot and it was while it was sleeping. Do you want the KMSG file or not, not sure if you'd want that file before the reboot or the next one after I rebooted into Android.

Yea, more logs the better. Can't say we're particularly looking to debug this issue, but any reboots to WinMo are bad (obviously) and are usually related to kernel panics. So go ahead and post it, can't hurt. Thanks!
