Arrrghhhh, I'm gonna grab this tomorrow and set up a clean FRX04 set it up and run it for a bit. I've been trying lately but got water coming in from this freaking snow and ice and the wife's been a tad bit pissy lately, lmao. I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon hopefully with some data.

That said, I've seen this issue before, and it went away for me when I switched to a different system.ext2, which is bizarre and a little inexplicable to me.

i know it isn't about testing wifi, but i just wanted to point it out in case it was supposed to be working.

Hey it never got resolved, the moment the screen is locked my gsm radio is switched of.

What I did was revert back to 1/13/2011 and then it seems to be fine. But after an hour Iam not notified of any incoming call. The led changes from green to orange but not notified. After that there is no outgoing as well.

Why do I get a radio to work initially and then go off. Also, what is the most stable build at the moment because I presume there is an ext2 update,an update where the camera works etc.Which kernel,ext2 do I try out? Iam on frx04

One thing I noticed in the improved battery kernel files is that when you move into a roaming area the phone will initially go to sleep properly (see the green light) but once you wake it up and use it then it never goes back to sleep (constant orange light) causing rapid discharge in battery. I do not have the demsg log for it as this happens in my work area and my work place has restriction on attaching anything to my laptop.

FRX04 with Kernel 1253 is the most "updated" without being a test, afaik. Some phones actually do better on kernels older than 1253 though, so you might try going back to some older ones to see how they work for you.

When you get to a location where you can connect your phone to a computer or pull your sd card and connect it to a computer, try to get the SYSTEM_LAST_KMSG files from the /data/system/dropbox folder. Your symptoms sound a lot like GPS is enabled though, are you positive that GPS and network location are both unchecked in the Location section of Settings?

You can get previous logs from the directions posted above ^^.

I don't really ever go into roaming, so that's an interesting observation... Hopefully we can see why it's happening from your logs.

On another note, WisTilt2 should have a new kernel for me today - don't have it yet, he's working on it tho folks. Once he gets it to me, I'll post it up here - temporary workaround for the system_server bug, and hopefully he has enough logs of it to resolve it. So no need to pull more logs of the system_server bug, thanks for those who did.

You can install a program from the market called OS Monitor.

Then you can just go to the log tab and click export log and dump the dmesg log from there.

Thanks will try that. It's also possible that the constant orange light may be because of low battery because today the sleep worked several times after I used the phone when roaming but it stopped when the battery level went low.

To the previous post about GPS, I am positive I have GPS and Wifi turned off otherwise I don't even get more than 2 hrs when roaming even when fully charged.

Arrrghhh, any word on the new kernel from Wistilt2 yet? I didn't grab the other one yesterday as you noted he has enough logs, so I'm patiently waiting to set up a clean FRXo4 to test this on.

I noticed the same thing w/ the light staying red when the battery drains low, happened to me last night, never realized that.

Had a hiccup that he's trying to code around. Still hoping to get it today, haven't heard anything from him since last night tho.
