Re: NAND Boot Testing - HW3D Fixed: 10-21, Auto-brightness Testing: 10-24

Has the issue with the screen not completely shutting off been worked out yet? I wanna give this a try again. I had no luck getting it to boot past the boot screen last time. I didnt want to keep trying till the screen was fixed cause I wanna stick to Nand from now on.

Hey lookie that you're from Denver... Anyhoo, I don't think this has been sorted out yet. I was hopeful with WisTilt2's new commits, but I don't think acl has groomed those for NAND yet.

i havent even had a chance to try the latest build. Didnt someone say they had it working?

I will probably disable autobl since that should not affect panel shutdown and resume. Or at least have it set manually so it does not bother us during init which seems to be an issue.

The solution from Lmiller is great. Just add echo 50 >/sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight/brightness to your froyo.user.conf file in the andboot/conf folder and you should be good for now. I'm waiting for git to come back online so I can build a new rootfs with the command embedded.

why do you need a new rootfs if all of this works with the current one?

We already have a modded rootfs for keyboard layout stuff. Was just going to toss the backlight brightness command in there with it and generate a new rootfs as well. Just makes it so people don't have to edit the froyo.user.conf themselves. Like I said, I love automating things to make it easier for others

ahh.. for the auto keyboard ? ic. if you dont mind making one i suppose thats cool. but since the user conf executes inside the rootfs, why not make your script run in there so you can just deploy 1 userconf instead of 1 whole rootfs?

But the user conf executes before the keyboard routine. So that don't really work. But I could be wrong.
