Meaning the phone is always trying to output 5v out of the USB.
Thats what I said, some wrong setting is putting power on the USB-port. As long as you don't put anything in the usb port it should not cause a noticable drain

ACL, what all does his autobuild setup need? Also, I compiled the changes you made today, and still none of the builds work for me. I attached a logcat for you to look at. Leaving it up just in case it is helpful, but I screwed the pooch and forgot to blow away my data.img during testing. Will mess with it later.

if im not mistaken(i could be wrong)..but i think it was proven even if nothing was plugged in..the power was still being dished out because it "thinks" something is there when nothing is

But, the power can't be dished out because there isn't a complete circuit, its an open... Voltage cannot be being used by an open.

This is true... In this case, but in some cases you might have the power being regulated which would cause a drain.
This voltage is measuring the same as the battery so it seems this is not being regulated at all.

look @ it this way..remember the phone runs off of battery right? so even if nothing was plugged in..the power is still routed there somehow and drains the battery..like your outlet..even if nothings there..the outlet still has power right?..only thing your power @ home wouldnt die cuz of your electricity company(which doesnt use a battery)..hope it helps a little

But if you plug in nothing in any power outlet in your house for a whole month, your power consumption bill would be very close to zero.

well right now im waiting for Wistilt to give me access to the hosted server so i can get that thing to do the autobuild for us. I'm not sure when he will get done but im waiting patiently. In the mean time im still attacking the panel issue. We can shutdown the panel and bring it back. But there is some weird behaviour when the panel comes back up, we lose android. So hopefully i get this ironed out soon. That alone will bring up battery life tremendously.
