You are talking about in microp-klt? I kind of figured it wasn't anything to do with the rootfs, but I pulled it anyway until I had a chance to test a few other things out. Can't wait for your update, and if you have anything you need testing with, let me know

I was hoping you read my message about it before.

Anyway... yea most times charging while off I pull the usb and battery or else it won't boot anyway.

I end up having a dead dead battery a lot since I don't pay attention enough. 20 mins and boot and continue charging. Figures it was something like that but can only troubleshoot so much without "seeing" the symptoms lol

Will be flashing mine shortly.

Good luck with the 12-14 kernel. I think the panel init code doesn't support my panel as it goes to a black screen and never even generates a data.img file. I'm using the flashing back and forth as a reason to work on my XDA_UC scripts, so I'll be testing the 12-11 kernel next unless ACL posts anything to test.

ugh.... that doesn't sound appealing.

I'm trying it anyway.

I'll report in a few.

Booting here ok. I don't have the new rootfs though. I held the power button down. After the kernel was loaded it came on and loaded the boot animation as usual.

.... yea... black screen turns on... black screen off... :/

I'm just testing the new rootfs right now. I think there was an odd file permissions problem.

Here's my findings so far:

11/29 kernel
Boot animation blinked for 3 seconds and then kicked in smoothly. Loaded into Android, and everything seems to be good. Everything is very fast within Android. Once panel is turned off, I have to fight to get it to come back on by tapping the screen quickly and trying to unlock.

12/11 kernel
Screen goes dark as rootfs mounts, and you have to wait 10 seconds bfore the power button responds to presses at which point the screen turns back on. Boot animation blinked for 3 seconds again and then kicked in nice and smooth. Once animation ends, screen turns off and you have to wait another 10 seconds before you can turn it back on (power button non-responsive during that time). In Android, you don't have to fight with it as bad as 11/29, but it still doesn't stay on for me every single time. I seem to have better luck with the top power button than using the end call button.

12/14 kernel
Didn't have time to test with the new rootfs, but I think my previous issue may have been the rootfs and not the kernel, so I'll have to wait until I get home to test this one.

New rootfs has been posted to the first post and fixes the weird issue I was having before (I think file permissions were wrong on init or something weird like that).

Re: NAND Boot Testing - 12-14: Panel power off fixes and new rootfs (important update

With the lates libgles and graloc boot animation is like before but with this fb feels like 3d is off untill it is booted to home screen.

The 12-11 version worked great with the autobrightness on in settings.

I rebooted with 12-14 installed still and kept pressing keys to keep the screen alive and it was working fine. Can't let the screen go off or it's just black.

Reverting for now.
