I read somewhere that it enables you to pan a little left and right by having that extra width, but I don't know if it's really true so I made an extra version just in case it actually works.

I'm not sure what you made an extra version of, but yes, it does work to have extra width on your wallpaper. I think the formula on it was to double the width of your screen so you'll actually have an extra 50% on both sides to pan.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for waiting so long for my updates. Got alot going on lately!
So I have the first "Aztechka" piece half-way done, but I need your guys' help. I'm going to be filling in the second ring of this piece with website url's of today's best (or more popular) tech sites and I'd like to include urls that you guys recommend. So let me know what sites you guys like and I'll put it in!

I had a lot of fun making it, and I think most of the artwork is going to lean towards this "illustration" style for now. But of course, that could always change depending on the subject matter. Enjoy!
