Incoming call voice announce over BT app needed
I've switch from a TP2 (which used MSVC) to an Evo 3D and would like to know how to get incoming voice call announcements over BT headset with my new phone.
I see lots of apps that claim to do this in the Android Market, but would like to know if anyone uses one that works well with the Evo 3D. I don't need lots of voice functions -- mainly announcing name (or number when not in contact list) of the incoming call. Thanks.

Re: Incoming call voice announce over BT app needed
I am seriously considering the Blueant Q2.
I tried Vlingo and couldn't get it to announce calls. Does it do that? How? And I just looked at Edwin the marketplace and don't see any indication of it being able to announce calls either. |

Cool! I'm getting one soon. I'm still using a two year old Plantronics discovery 655. I thought I'd have to get the blueant to initiate voice dial but it actually works. Tag the button, talk to dial. You will love the blueant. I tried one we had in stock, and was sold immediately. It's so freaking loud! The hardest part was syncing contacts. Bear in mind at the time, I was on a Hero with cyanogenmod 6. It should work even better with the 3D.

Re: Incoming call voice announce over BT app needed
The call announcement works very well with the Q2 (synching the contacts was no problem and I have over 500 contacts).
My problem is voice dialing. Clicking the MFB button on the Q2 you have to say "Phone Commands" and it then brings up the Voice Dialer app which 1) has poor recognition in terms of accuracy and 2) has no confirm to at least help be sure you've got the right one recognized. I am very frustrated getting the voice dial to work right. |
