amazon now forcing you to enter cc info to get free apps

this is BS. never once before was I prompted to enter CC info to get free apps but it seems today amazon has started foring people to enter cc info so they can secretly charge you even if teh game is free further down the line

Its no big deal really..I mean I use my amazon account regularly..and generally never had much problems with Amazon doing shady stuff...heck I bought a pack of 12 milks on amazon not too long ago, 1 packet got damaged and leaked in the shipping..they refunded me my total purchase and let me keep the rest..so I can't really complain with their ethics :/

They never secretly charge anything - they've had a cc on file for me off and on for many many years.

What's with the tinfoil hat?

The app on device used to allow for free purchases without cc, but that seems to have changed with a recent update.

You can just purchase on the web via a desktop browser, enter a cc at purchase, and then remove the card if you wish to not keep a card associated with your android device.

I have to agree with Schett. Amazon has had my CC info for quite some time now and I have never, ever, had any issues with them. I am actually a big fan and use the site fairly regularly.

I've never had any issues with Amazon having my cc on file either. I clicked through this morning after I got my free retro camera app. They only wanted to coordinate my Android account with my regular account. I added my cell #; my cc was already on my profile. No big deal. But possibly the freebie apps days may be numbered.

amazon is great and i have prime and all through them. even if there is a charge that you didnt make they are great with working it out with you and getting your money refunded. (happened to a buddy before) have nothing but love for amazon and they are very fair with returns, exchanges, and great with people skills. i fell you will have no worries but could always add and subtract as mentioned before in this thread by a couple people.
