+1 on RockPlayer. It is actually worth the 9.95 to purchase the ad free version. I did. It gets rid of the red R on the top left of the screen. It is the only video player I use.

Install Orb on your laptop. Then get Androrb from the market. I can stream avi and most other formats on my Moment!

What program do you use to rip your DVD's. I use DVDFab and rip to Divx or Xvid set at 1500 kbps and sound set to same as source. Avatar is around 1,371gig's in size and plays on the Epic without a problem and looks great!
